Summery Splatter and a Cat

Oh, so much to do and so little time! I rushed around at work today, training my temp replacement, trying to wrap up loose ends so that I can take 3 days off. But now it's over, and my last fun thing is Book Club tonight at our place.
Brights!

As soon as I bought this blazer - last seen here with a monochromatic yellow head-to-toe look - I knew it would look fabulous with this skirt.
The skirt is my infamous splatter skirt (the dark red splats remind me of blood - I think I've been watching "Dexter" for too long!), and this outfit is nearly a copy of the last time I wore it here in June, right down to my accessories. Swap out the yellow cardigan for a jacket; swap the red thin sweater for a camisole. Same thing.
I realized today that everything I'm wearing (except the camisole) is thrifted, right down to the half-slip I'm wearing under the skirt.

Let's tally up this thrifted outfit :

Blazer: $24.95
Skirt: $13.50
Shoes: $6.00
Pin/earrings: $8.00
Half-slip: $2.50

Total: $54.95 for the whole outfit! Wow, that's pretty good.

The stuff:
Who doesn't love lime-green pointy-toed suede shoes? Last seen here in June with this same skirt and pin/earrings.

Blazer (Holt Renfrew, thrifted), cami (Mexx), skirt (no label, thrifted), shoes (Circa Joan & David, thrifted), pin/earrings (vintage 70s, Sarah Coventry, thrifted).

I missed my bus this morning because Vizzini was so darned cute.
"Abandon me. See if I care."
Who is that sitting out on the scratching post?
"It is I, fierce Vizzini! Destroyer of moths and defender of the home!"
Oh, it's just our silly little bun.

I hope you all have a great weekend. I'll be back for "Visible Monday".

  11. Wow that's pretty neat - you've got a great eye for spotting things at the thrift store - an entire outfit for a little over 50.00 sounds really good.
Gets me wondering if you ever check cost per wear on items.

  13. Gah--I love the cut of the neckline on this jacket. If it were mine, I'd be experimenting with it against a charcoal gray dress or skirt.
