Hey, all! I just want to give a shout-out to the new readers and commenters - not sure how you found me, but I'm glad you did. Thank you to my blogger friends new and old, recent and long-time, for reading, following me, and for being here on the journey.
And onto the outfit.
I wanted to wear this blouse again (last seen here in July with emerald green culottes) and I wanted to wear this fabulous skirt again.I've had this skirt since 2009, and last wore it in the May 2012 capsule (recap here). I can't believe it's been that long since I wore it! I left it in with my spring/summer wardrobe in March so that I'd get some warm weather wear from it (it's a tweed made of silk and wool), and here it is August and I'm finally wearing it. Tsk tsk.
For those of you who are fairly new to visiting me, you can click back on the "last worn" links, which will take you back...and back...and back, to when I first got most of my clothes. Ever since I started blogging in 2008, I have linked back to the last time I wore items. I sometimes like clicking through and "visiting" my old clothes - it's fun to see how I've styled things differently over the years. But it's quite onerous to do with every outfit's pieces, so feel free to poke around.
The stuff:
My funky floral and wooden soled Fluevogs. I last wore them here in June with oodles of chains. They are surprisingly comfortable, considering that there is only a slim layer of padding in them.
You might notice something missing here:
The shark ring is upside-down! Oh no! |
Blouse (Mexx, consignment), skirt (Talbot's, consignment), shoes (Faith High Low Reumahs), belt/buckle (Shi Studio, buckle is thrifted), pink bracelet (thrifted), gold bracelet (vintage 60s, Mom's), shark ring (local), lapis lazuli ring (Wendy Brandes).
I love those colors together and I really like that blouse. Looks so luxurious!
ReplyDeleteI really like how the ruffles on the blouse collar and the flounces on the skirt bookend the look. Love those Fluevogs wedges!
ReplyDeleteThose sandals work so well with that skirt. Also shark ring love!! Sorry about the bracelet, glad you could fix it.
ReplyDeleteNavy and orange - a beautiful colour combo! I love that this skirt is so conservative yet colourful, classic yet unique, me yet Sheila...
ReplyDeleteReally like this colour combination! That skirt is a beautiful piece, I do hope you get to wear it more often :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to fix your bracelet! :)
Great colour combination and I really like the belt :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful combination of ruffles and pleats, Sheila. And the wedge sandals are *yum*.
ReplyDeleteLove the way the colors in the sandals play off of the skirt and top! It all coordinates nicely! And your shark ring is appropriate for Shark Week!
ReplyDeleteLove this combo--a tealy navy and salmon--awesome! (and I'm so going to try and copy it!)
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit--and how the shoes just pick up all the colors!
I love the whole thing, but I really love those fun sandals. ^_^
ReplyDeleteLove love love the shoes!!
ReplyDeleteWhenever i see you wear those shoes i cannot but remember several shops in Argentina where they have the matching belt and bag for it!
ReplyDeleteThe colour mix in your outfit is fabulous, particularly the shoes. Thank you for taking the trouble to link back to older outfits, I always like seeing the different ways you've worn something.
ReplyDeleteAlthough... I am so unobservant, I couldn't work out what was missing in your photo! Glad you fixed the bracelet.
