Weekend-ish Wrap-Up: Brunch Bronze and Denim; Burrito Block Print

Welcome back, my friends! Woo, the Day of Indolence took it out of me! L and I mostly hid from the world for the full weekend, only venturing out for brunch on Saturday and a quick dash for burritos and groceries on Monday.

Here's Saturday brunch, built around the most swooshy skirt I own.
I'm enjoying taking my ultra-dressy items down a notch to see how they work in a casual wardrobe.

  • T-shirt - Blondie, thrifted, not tracked
  • Denim fin top - 3.1 Phillip Lim, consignment; last seen here in January, over an orange sweater dress
  • Silk blend skirt - Ralph Lauren, consignment; last worn here in October 2025 for Saturday brunch in orange
  • Denim jacket by Plu++ Plulavie, consignment; first seen here in May with pink plaid
  • Sneakers - Converse; last worn here in May with optic chartreuse

It was a windy day, so I wanted something that would really swoosh.
I looked at a t-shirt, but I needed some sort of layer - the fin top!

And then...why not a little more denim on top of that?
I really liked all the uneven hemlines around the hips. This felt very cool.

I strolled down to meet L after his Ultimate Frisbee game.
Yes, he played the morning after the DOI!

The stuff:
Comfy shoes - I love the extra chunk of the thick soles.

  • Leather purse - vintage 80s, thrifted
  • Shell brooch - JJ, vintage 80s, consignment, Powell River

Pearly bling:
Necklace stacking is a thing...again! Did you know that? I am amused by how these things come around, over and over.

  • Leather cuff - thrifted
  • Gold-tone cuff - Mom's, vintage 70s
  • Silver/gold/amethyst cobra rings - vintage fair
  • Silver/crystal ring - Uffizi Gallery gift shop, Florence
  • Pearl ring - The Pearl Factory, Honolulu, c. 1985
  • Pearl necklace - thrifted
  • Gold-plated pewter necklace - Robert Larin, vintage 70s, vintage mall, gift from L
  • Gold-tone necklace - Givenchy, vintage 80s, vintage fair
  • Pearl earring - Aldo
  • Pearl spiral earring - Martha Sturdy, vintage fair

Whateley kept me company while I wrote on Saturday.
He kicked all of my stuff out of its storage, then slept on the bags.

Barnabas hid from the world on the bed.
Such a sweet little guy.

After a couple of days of hanging out, playing boardgames, reading and listening to music, L and I ventured out to get groceries on Monday.
What's that I see? Another whole week off? I'm in!

  • Cotton dress - Malia, vintage 70s, Hawaiian, consignment; last worn here (2nd outfit) in August 2025 for brunch
  • Shoes - Fly London, thrifted; first seen here in September 2025 for a wee shop

I wore minimal make-up and didn't even dry my hair! Such a rebel.
The temps soared to 23 degrees, so I broke out this cotton long Hawaiian block print dress.

Since we had a few things to pick up in the area, L and I had a quick lunch at Boomtown.
Yum, I cannot get enough of their breakfast burrito.

Scarf on, ready for the convertible!
After lunch, we did a quick grocery shop, and then home again to hide from the world.

Rock on!
My Vera scarf matched perfectly.

The stuff:
These shoes are comfy, and excellent for a hot day.

  • Suede purse - Dooney & Burke, consignment
  • Silk Scarf - Vera, thrifted

Black and white bling:
Longtime favourites.

  • Black and white bracelet - vintage fair
  • Black and white bangles - consignment
  • Earrings - W. Germany, vintage 80s, vintage fair
  • Silver/crystal ring - Soul Flower
  • Silver "Anneke & Lars" ring - vintage mall

Someone needed a hug.
Whateley matches my print!

Me and L rocking it at Boomtown.
Happy Birthday week, love!

The kittens look like they're planning something.
They love Angus here (and so do we).

L and Whateley on the deck.
Aw, a man and his cat.

I'll be back in a few days! Thank you so much for being here.
