Ah, I'm back from the gym, had burgers and corn on the cob for dinner, and wine when L gets home from his guitar lesson. Life is good.
I'd forgotten about this top! I last wore it here in June, again with oodles of chains. I really love the cut-out shoulder on it - I'm feeling good about my arms lately. I actually have muscles!I never thought this cream satin pencil skirt would be a staple in my wardrobe, but it's been over 3 years since I bought it in the St. Vincent de Paul thrift store for $12.00. I last wore it here with leopard and pearls, in June.
The obi worked well over the super-high waist.
The stuff:
My gloriously comfy and awesome Sumatra Coffee Fluevogs, which I've had since spring 2011. I last wore them here in March, when it was tights and Etro blazer weather. I love this shoe.
Big bling:
Assorted chains. Isn't the necklace cool? I thrifted it about a year ago.
Top (Simpli, consignment), skirt (Bedo, thrifted), obi (thrifted), shoes (Sumatra Coffee, Fluevog), necklace (thrifted), chain/leather bracelet (local), chain bracelet (Club Monaco), earrings (Foxy), spinner ring (Twang & Pearl), steel ring (POLY, thrifted).
I was a little late this morning because I had to take picture:

I enjoy your posts immensely. What can you tell me about the width of the fluevogs that you wear? I'd love to invest in a pair and my feet are on the wide side of normal.
ReplyDeleteHi, Elaine! Thank you so much for reading and commenting. I do appreciate it.
DeleteJust as Fluevogs vary hugely in size from style to style, so do they vary in width. If you are not near a store or boutique that carries Fluevogs (so that you can try them on), I would recommend that you read the comments on their website for previous purchasers' feedback about the width. Those comments are invaluable! My feet are fairly narrow, and the styles that fit me best are the Teapots, Coffees and the Bellevilles families, so you will probably want to avoid those. In my collection, the widest pairs I have are the Minis family (also one of the cutest styles of shoes!).
What a cool top - it looks great on you :)
ReplyDeleteLove how the colour sin your outfit match the shoes so well! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat silhouette of Vizzini! He actually looks kind of small there!
ReplyDeleteYou do have awesome arms - so you should show them off in that amazing top!
Ohh i like how the shoes bring the outfit together as they have the same colors...
ReplyDeleteIt's SO GOOD to hear that you are well --- i've had the crappiest days, so I am happy someone else it HAPPY!
I like the cut of the top, the shoulder and arms flash is nicely unexpected. Great colour too.
ReplyDeleteCorn on the cob is one of my favourite foods, although I cannot eat it politely!
Totally great shirt. I love the whole cut out trend. Tried replicating myself, with a shirt and a pair of scissors. I don't recommend it for the impatient perfectionist type.
ReplyDeleteOfficer V is real cute!
ReplyDeleteLove the red top, real nice on you
And Ah! those fluevogs, well was it to say but gorgeous shoes!

Dear Sheila, I've been remiss in ability to comment, but have been so enjoying your amazing colour combos and splendid pieces which combine so beautifully in your gorgeous ensembles (red vintage slip! Spanish Ladies and new blue Fluevogs, woooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) I am also glad to see you are looking so well and strong, as is the Amazing Vizzini!
ReplyDeleteThis outfit is the most perfect pairing for those Vogs! I know Fluevogs can seem difficult to pair sometimes (to me), but I'm always so impressed at how they finish a look.
ReplyDeleteThose Fluevogs are stunning!!
ReplyDeleteI love everything about this outfit--the colors, the way you blinged it up!!
