No secret: I am a major "Star Trek" nerd. My dad introduced me to the original series back in the 70s when it was in re-runs, and I was majorly into "Next Generation" in the 90s.
This jacket is a cotton stretch cream that's been covered with silver, sort of brushed on. It reads as very shiny! I wore this last in the January 2013 capsule (recap here) in two outfits. I noted at the time that I couldn't wait to wear it again in spring. Um...and here we are in August...
here in May with a plethora of colours. Today, it's the only colour.
here) and the third wear of these fab kitten heels. Rhinestones? Check! Faux croc? Check! Faux Snakeskin? Check! I last wore them here in June with blue and cream.
I liked the contrast of the space-y jacket with the organic shape of the skirt and the leather belt/shoes.
Jacket (Smoking Lily), skirt (Plum), shoes (Ramon Tenza, thrifted), belt (Brave Belts, consignment), ring (Dots), earrings (Plum).
Special extra uber-bonus! Cat pictures!

Looking up at him.

Tonight when I got home from the gym and had finished dinner (mmm...salmon burgers and salad), and uploaded my photos, I found a bonus one of our little monster.

I feel in that skirt you could totally give Cap'n Picard some whiplash.ReplyDelete
You're damn straight add 'Picard' to dictionary, spell check.
Love your Federation jacket! and the mix with earthy jewelry is inspired. I hate saying goodbye to my babies in the morning too, but I don't know if they feel the same. I think they get ready to open cat food cans and smoke cigarettes.ReplyDelete
I always love good Vizzini pictures! The one that you're looking up at him is really good! Such a handsome boy!ReplyDelete
Ooh, Sheila lost her heart to a starship trooper! Great outfit, I love silver but I'm never sure how flattering it is on me, don't know why. Looks fabulous on you!ReplyDelete
Vizzini looks so naughty. He always seems to be on full alert, look at those eyes and perky whiskers!
Have a great weekend. xxxxx
Very clever, i would have never imagined belting the jacket.... very genius Yoda.ReplyDelete
Lovelove that jacket!! My favorite gifts ever have been my own Star Trek badge and pips!ReplyDelete
It's been so long since I've seen my blobby kitties. It's always hard to leave them. Mr Viz has such an expressive crazyface.
Oh yeah those were the days.......Cap'n Picard.....I loved him, saw the re-runs of the 70s, wasn't my cuppa tea, though. But I loved Picard and his team and most of all I loved Data. Gee still remember that movie the one were Data gets goose pimples for the very first time. Yeah those where the days.ReplyDelete
And I love your shoes, they are cool. Great outfit too.
And Vizzini, he's just adorable. Thx for sharing his pics.
Oh, great jacket! You need to get those vintage ST pins, if you see them again. The silver texture is wonderful.ReplyDelete
I took a friend to a ST convention once, as her birthday present. She was really pleased. I hadn't seen an episode at that point, so probably didn't understand what I was looking at! And everyone was in costume!
I love that you embrace your Star Trek style! And I also love the idea of belting a jacket. It's not something I've tried before, but love the idea! Most jackets are too boxy on my and can't imagine why I haven't tried this!! Thanks for the idea and that's why I love these tyle links - the exchange of ideas --there is always something for everyone :)ReplyDelete

Love this--the jacket is AWESOME!! You NEED those vintage Star TRek pins!!ReplyDelete
The shoes are gorgeous! and yes wood accents are PERFECT for a Star TRek themed ensemble.
So much Vizzini cuteness. He has such an expressive face!
the silvery jacket looks a bit like a moto jacket worn with its broad lapels showing - I can see it being worn with fitted jeans and silver shoes - you would be very on-trend wearing it that way!ReplyDelete
