Jun 12th - Outfit #12 - This or That - Platforms and Knuckledusters

Today's "This or That: Trends" are platforms or flats. I could have worn flats, but my platforms that are in this month's capsule were better suited to today's outfit.
I last wore the shoes on the weekend here (last outfit, scroll waaaaay down). If you're going to do heels, might as well make them as comfy as possible.

This top is a "fresh" item in the capsule - I last wore it here in December (2nd outfit). I first got it in August 2010 (here) - it was thrifted for $8.00, and I've worn it 5 times now, so I'm getting excellent cost per wear out of it. It's by Talbot's and is a very nice thick jersey - there's even a snap at the boobular area to keep it from gaping. I love that kind of detail.

I'm wearing a mustard yellow cami under this (not part of the capsule) to tie into the turquoise and yellow jewelry that I got the other night (picture here of the ring and necklace). The earrings are these ones (picture).
This skirt was last seen here last Tuesday, which means my WW group tonight will see the same skirt. Oh, the horror!

I noticed that Wendy Brandes did an article about loads of rings. These are mine today:
From the left: my vintage gold ring, my 40th birthday gold/diamond/emerald ring, lapis lazuli and silver ring by Wendy Brandes, cheapy turquoise stone ring, my gold wedding ring (handmade on Saltspring Island).

I usually wear at least 4 rings a day. All the gold ones are worn every day - I rarely take them off.

Top (Talbot's, thrifted), cami (InWear), skirt (Bedo, thrifted), shoes (Kenneth Cole Reaction, consignment), earrings (Caracol), ring/necklace (Le Chateau), ring (Wendy Brandes).

  1. Love the printed blouse with those amazing sandals. Also wow! I love the ring close ups. I love how each one has a different story to it.

  2. What would Wendy call it--a fiver!

  3. I love your "boobular" snap and all those fine accessories which really bring this outfit to life.

  4. What fabulous shoes!! Don't you just love a wedge? Still gives the height of a heel but the comfort of a flat (MOST of the time). I love the whole look! ~Serene

    1. Serene, thank you! Yes, I love a good sturdy wedge.

Thanks so much for stopping by and reading.

  5. Love all of your rings! :) Great top too, it's got a really nice print.

  6. Neutral skirts are great pieces to have in a wardrobe since you can do so many things with them. I really like it with that top. Being small in the boobular area, wrap tops and dresses aren't great on me but it looks fabulous on you.

    Love all the rings!

  7. I should wear more rings. I used to and then I stopped for some reason. I still have a ton that are getting no love.

I love your blouse, I like that it ties to the side. It's super pretty!

  8. Platforms are truly the best shoe invention ever, no? And yours are gorgeous. I love the strap design. Very aesthetically appealing.

  9. Love the outfit!!! Are your toenails painted yellow by chance??

  10. I wish I'd tuned in earlier, so i could have done the challenge.
This and last week have been quite stressful - and i barely have time to be on line :(
I like that turquoise set you are wearing, goes beautifully with your skin and hair-

  11. I love the way the rings add color to a fabulous neutral outfit. The shoes are great as well. When I grow up, I'm gonna get me a Wendy Brandes ring too. Really special!!!!

  12. Loving your rings! I am feeling more ringy these days too, and I do wear my WendyB "G" ring every day. Fabuloso shoes.
