Mustard Energy Boost and Brocade With Silly Pockets

Whew, made it to Wednesday! My office is getting busier and so is my work, and it's just sucking away all my energy. Time to deploy some Colour Therapy!
It's too dark in the morning for Stair Pictures right now, sigh. Anyway, YELLOW!

  • Blouse - J. Crew, thrifted; first worn here in June with matching shoes
  • Trousers - Sissyme, consignment; purchased here for $27.00
  • Shoes - Super Fine Cardinal, Fluevog; last seen here a year ago in October 2022 with my brightest brights
  • Leather coat (below) - Terry Lewis, thrifted; last worn here in September

I always wear yellow when I need a mental boost - it cheers me and makes my brain work better.
These trousers are an awesome fabric and I dig the cream piping on all the seams. A touch of Spandex would have been welcome, though.

And the rear view is good (always important!).
I do a lot of butt crunches, stairs and core strength exercises.

But this little pocket is just SILLY.
It's tiny and it's hidden under a flap. What am I supposed to do with that? Give me big side pockets large enough to put my whole hand in!

Outerwear (I forgot to be Incognito). This another of my leather raincoats (sending Ann good thrift vibes for finding one of her own!), and I wore it fully buttoned up to the neck this morning against the cold.
It was sunny by the time I walked home, but still chilly - I missed my sunglasses. Doesn't it feel like it was warm just a few days ago?

Accoutrements.
I LOVED wearing this toque today - it didn't squish my fine hair flat! My hair doesn't hold style well, and often goes awry in the damp humidity here.

  • Mohair toque - no label, thrifted; purchased here for $12.95
  • Pashmina - Italy, gift from Mom
  • Gloves - thrifted

My hands were happy to have these warm gloves.

The stuff:
I'm completely shocked that I haven't worn these gold shoes in a year! I did put them away for spring/summer, but still...Ah well, so many shoes, so little time!

POLY bling:
If you're wondering where my earrings are - so am I! I totally whiffed on laying them out last night and didn't even notice in my early morning pre-coffee haze when I "armoured up" and put all my jewelry on.

  • Silver/gold bracelet - JPL, vintage fair
  • All the rest of the jewelry - POLY by Christophe Poly
  • Long necklace - thrifted
  • "C" bracelet - thrifted
  • Green glass ring - Art Gallery of Hamilton gift shop
  • Ring - vintage fair
  • Pendant - thrifted

I rested from my POLY collection for a year - I'm glad I did, as I really enjoyed wearing them again. About them here (all links 'cause I love).

  1. I'm hearing you on the energy sucking work situation as well as the silly pockets!
Your outfit provides perfect colour therapy, though. Yellow is what we need!
Thank you for the shout out and the good thrift vibes. I have found a trench, but sadly it's not a leather one. Still, too good to leave behind, though ... xxx

  2. We used to call those silly pockets, bus fare pockets, just big enough to get your change in!
Yellow is such a positive colour and it looks brilliant on you. xxx

  3. Great trousers, fantastic bum (I am envious) and that goldy raincoat is something I would buy too.
