You can always tell when I'm feeling lowest of the low - I wear the brightest brights.
I realized as I rushed out the door this morning - I forgot to take my Stair Picture! I put my shoes back on when I got home in the evening (tired, sweaty) and did it.

Yellow is my Mental Health Colour - it always cheers me. I look pained here...6:30am is so early...
Getting in my first wearing of this cardigan, a gorgeously thick and soft wool blend, with pockets (which I jammed my hands into any chance I got).
I had tons of compliments from people while wearing this - I voted in our civic/city elections today and, as with my Covid jabs, I dress for the volunteers who have to deal with the general public.
"I wore this for you!" I said to the very nice lady who signed me in, "Thank you for your hard work."

"Ma'am, that's a great colourful outfit," said the young produce manager at the grocery store after work.
A man in a wheelchair zoomed over to me to tell me, "Your colours are so happy!" Wearing colour is practically a public service!

Cardigan off and posing all fashion-y (with my cardigan's tag hanging out, klassy, Sheila).
Incognito.
You need sunglasses just to look at me! But all that colour does lift my spirits, and helps me to know it lifts others' too.

- Scarf - Alexander McQueen, consignment
- Mask - Lazy Susan's
The mask pattern is spiders and webs. And glitter!
The stuff:
Gold shoes are so useful. Cat refers to these as "Mrs. Fluevog's shoes," as his wife Ruth was wearing this style when I had John Fluevog sign a pair of my shoes back in 2019, enjoy here, pic of her here. We're Shoe Twins!
Well, now I have a Shoe Triplet! I have been a long-time reader (since around 2007) of Go Fug Yourself (link here 'cause I love them and love seeing what all the famous people are wearing; all links 'cause I love, of course).
As I was browsing the slideshow of the "Hocus Pocus 2" red carpet (here), I found this picture of actor Doug Jones.
What a lovely man! You might not know his face, but you'd recognize a lot of his characters (IMDB list here):- One of the Gentlemen from Buffy the Vampire Slayer
- Abe Sapien from the early Hellboy movies
- Characters (like the monster with the eyeballs in its palms) from Pan's Labyrinth
- The water creature in The Shape of Water
- Saru on Star Trek: Discovery
- The Baron on What We Do In the Shadows
Ha, that gives you a very good idea of the type of movies and TV I enjoy! Anyway, I am TICKLED to have Doug Jones as a Shoe Triplet! It's likely that he became aware of Fluevogs...because John Fluevog designed the boots worn by all of the Starfleet officers on Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (link here).
Gold bling:
All that colour needed loads of gold. - Belt - thrifted
- Brass Brutalist rings - vintage 70s, vintage mall
- Gold Brutalist pendant - Robert Larin, vintage 70s, vintage mall, gift from L
- Shark cuff - Tom Binns, 2012, consignment
- Earrings - vintage mall
Well firstly happy birthday, and secondly thank you I am now waiting on the delivery of my new Fluevog star trek boots in grey. Your birthday but I bought myself a present!
ReplyDeleteOoops sorry that should read Lynette from Melbourne Australia, not anonymous.
DeleteWhat a cheery outfit and a brilliant match with your McQueen scarf!
ReplyDeletePan's Labyrinth is one of my all time favourite films, you are in good company! xxx
I've been feeling lowest of the low as wall, so thank you for wearing this brightly coloured outfit to cheer me up. That's one brilliant outfit, by the way! How fabulous to have found a shoe triplet; I'm loving that brutalist pendant very much. xxx
ReplyDeleteI had no idea John Fluevog went beyond designing shoes and accessories for his stores!
ReplyDeleteI love your outfit; your color therapy is giving me my daily dose of happiness medicine. :-) Am oogling your top, and the entire ensemble is the perfect spirit-raiser. Mmmm :-)
Continue with the enjoyment of your BIRTHDAY WEEK!
Bigs hugs and cheers, Laurie
Belated birthday greetings, Sheila!
ReplyDeleteLook at you providing a public (colour) service. Fabulous combination of colours and I adored the yellow cardigan; I could almost feel the snuggliness. Fab shoes and bling. too.
xxx
I am loving these bright together on you! I always find colour boots my mood but I don't wear it nearly often enough! I need to wear orange and yellow together more often!
ReplyDeleteWeird that we don't hear or see much of Fluevog here. The heels are always so appealing. I would definitely comment on your outfit when I would see you in reel. Its not often that I admire other women's looks on the streets here. It's all jeans and sweaters, boring.
ReplyDeleteYou look like sunshine!!!
ReplyDeleteAh, it's lovely and cheery. Colour really does make people happier. The kids really liked all my bright pops of red yesterday.
The Fluevlogs are so cool! You've reminded me to get my Bronze laceups out! Kezzie x
Oooh Doug Jones' jacket is to die for! Those shoes are fabulous, how awesome to be shoe triplets!
ReplyDeleteVery good outfit.
ReplyDeleteGreetje
Great outfit, always lovely yellows and bright colours but sorry you're feeling low!
ReplyDeleteThose pics of your 'shoe triplet' have put a smile on my face, I'm now admiring this actor (a huge fan of Abe Sapiens!). And also admiring the Star Trek boots designed by Mr.Fluevog himself, they rock!!
besos
What a shoe triplet to have - Doug Jones has been in so many fantastic films and programmes.
ReplyDeleteI hope the colours keep cheering you and everyone else up - winter can be such a grey time.
