I had a different pair of shoes planned with this, but I'm being good to my feet until Toe is better.
The blouse is quite long and full under that skirt, so it should be very versatile with different bottoms. And it's washable, and not sheer! Could it be?...I've achieved Peak Upgrading on the Perfect Mustard Blouse?? Only time will tell, but for now, things look promising.
I was waiting for the right outfit to debut my new ginormous 70s Brutalist brass/glass pendant and ring set.
I matched it up to the V neckline, but it kept slipping inside, so I loosened the chain to its full length.

I accentuated the skirt's paper-bag waist with a skinny blue leather belt.
There is a goldy-yellowy-chartreusey shade woven into the skirt's stripey pattern - this mustard is a perfect match.

The stuff:
If you were wondering, these shoes here were the ones I'd originally pulled to wear. I washed the toe of my shoe after seeing this pic - the smudge is from how I sit in my chair at work.

Brutalist bling:
Mr. Purry was lurking around, so I grabbed him for a quick pic.
Very thankful to L for this generous gift - both the necklace and ring were heavy and warm, but easy to wear. Love them!

"So undignified."
I can never resist a quick cuddle.
Those statement earrings are gorgeous! Loving the Brutalist necklace too!
ReplyDeleteAnd they are light as a feather! Thanks! I love this chunky stuff.
DeleteHere’s hoping your toe heals soon! Meanwhile, the shoes are perfect color wise and look quite comfortable. Indeed, the whole outfit looks comfy. My eyes picked out the mustard match between the top and the skirt. Well done on “trading up” with the top!
ReplyDeleteAlso liked yesterday’s outfit, especially the shoes. They are a style that I’ve long liked.
Cheers from a cool and occasionally wet (usually overnight rains) NY,
Laurie
It feels like it's getting better, Laurie. I picked up some corn removers at the drug store too.
DeleteThanks so much - my goal of Always Be Upgrading has been a success (at least for a mustard blouse). Thank you!
Must read back to find out the toe issue!!!
ReplyDeleteThe matching on this outfit is top class! I love how you have paired mustard, blue and white and the new necklace is great!!!
I think the mustard blouse is the zenith!
I mashed it against a piece of furniture - it's likely broken. :(
DeleteThank you! Zenith, apex, acme - it's the Perfect Mustard Blouse. :)
Was moi, la Kezzie!
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit. There is no such thing as peaking in clothes. Always upgrade people.
ReplyDeleteThis I learned from you!!!!

Sure! I will eventually wear out this blouse...or find one even better.
DeleteWhat a brilliant outfit, Sheila. I'm loving the mustard and blue combo and your Brutalist necklace is a stunner! I'm catching up - please do forgive me if I don't go all the way back - so I had to do a quick search to see what happened to your toe. Poor you! Mind you, that could have been me, as I'm banging my toes on pieces of furniture quite a lot! Hope it gets better soon! xxx
ReplyDeleteI'm liking your mustard phase and the planished pendant is a stunner! xxx
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful blouse and I am a huge fan of mustard and blue together, I'm loving how well this all coordinates with the jacket too.
ReplyDeleteWhile I don't have a lot of access to real quality pieces - most of my opshop finds are fast fashion honestly - I have been trying to be more critical with my wardrobe and make a few upgrades here and there. Mostly because the cosy comfy modal / spandex blend tops I like are just not holding up to the 30 wear goal. So I'm swapping for more cotton pieces when I can, and trying to buy more natural fibres. Even though I'm also reducing my spending, so I'm not buying a lot. I just wanted you to know your 'always be upgrading' ethos is definitely sticking with me, in my own little way :)
