May 3rd - Outfit #3 - Kermit Shoes

I loved today's outfit:
This is my green Kersh cardigan, last seen here. I get all my Kersh at Dots - when I find a piece on consignment, like this one, I know it's from there. They have every seasonal line, all kinds of samples and one-of-a-kind pieces, all marked way down.

The skirt is chocolate brown suede (of course, I have to have a piece of leather/suede in the May capsule!), and was last worn here.
It's a classic mermaid shape, with a slim fit through the hips, flaring out at the hem. It's also machine washable, no lie.

The thing that looks like a blue scarf is my blue jersey top, last worn here.
It's a cowl neck.

I also have a cami on under that. It's not part of the capsule.

The stuff:
The first time (here) I wore these shoes, I said they reminded me of Kermit the Frog. Obviously, they are my Kermit shoes!

That's my Grandma J's copper 1950s cuff:
I got the earrings at a vintage fair. Both them and the cuff are stamped "Renoir."

Cardigan (Kersh, consignment), top (Oxmo), cami (Smart Set), skirt (Danier Leather, consignment), shoes (Poetic License), cuff (Grandma J's, vintage 50s, Renoir), earrings (vintage 50s, Renoir).

Yesterday, Megan at The Fashionable Bureaucrat, said she wanted to take a picture of herself under her desk. I said I would do it if she did it - and she did!
I feel positively impish.
I have a nice big desk and double monitors - love! I'm a visual organizer, so I need everything laid out where I can see it. I'm the sticky note queen! As receptionist, I greet everyone who comes off the elevator - if it's someone I like, they get a cheer! Yay!

I got my haircut after work, and it was still light on the walk home. I adore this house and I'm so glad I got a picture of it in good light.
Lavender is the new neutral! Don't you love all the colours?

All the trees are coming out in full leaf:
This is a massive chestnut tree - I cropped out a ton of it. My grandad taught me that the spikes of blossoms are called "candles." That's where the giant chestnuts grow - when those start falling from the trees in the autumn, they can hurt!

  1. I LOVE those Kermit shoes. (How many times a week do I use the word "LOVE", all in caps of course, in your comments??). And that is a beautiful cuff. The earrings are a perfect match. Yep, loving it all, esp. your impish self!

    1. Lorinda, I actually have the matching earrings to the cuff (and the matching necklace!), but I felt like wearing something different.

  2. This outfit looks really cute on you - especially the green, and it's nice that you found "matching" earrings for the cuff. PS: I think we have the same chair!

  3. I love the Kermit shoes and the photo under the desk! The cables on my computer are forever coming loose and I've been caught under my desk, backside waving at the open door of my office! I'm impressed by the chestnut tree. I am under the impression that that are all but wiped out in the US due to some sort of blight.

    1. There are hundreds of chestnut trees in my city, Terri - many of the older streets are lined with them.

  4. Loving the blue and green together! :)

So interesting seeing your desk too, mine is much much messier, I have papers everywhere. But organised piles, haha. I know roughly where everything is in each pile, but when I tidy it up I can never find what I need. It's strange!

I learned of Poetic License shoe brand through you - and although I have not purchased a pair I plan to.. someday.
You are bad shoe influence ! I bought my Tsubos because of you same as my Fluevogs.

  9. Holy wow those shoes! Those shoes are the coolest. I love the effect of sweater/cowl/cami. The copper cuff is incredible. I got pretty obsessed with copper as a material a few years back and wound up researching it! It's a very intriguing metal, especially for cooking uses.

Giggling at your under the desk photo! I'm wondering if we need to start a new meme.

  10. I commented on Megan's post yesterday that I was disappointed there was no under the desk pic, so I was very pleasantly surprised to see yours! This is one of my fave outfits of yours; those shoes are incredible. So is that house.

  11. I fell in love with the blue/green combo when I saw that "Interview With the Vampire" scene where Claudia (Kristen Dunst) and Madeline (Domiziana Giordano) are huddled together in those fantastic blue and green taffeta dresses waiting for the sun to turn them into vampire dust. I know you haven't gotten too far into this capsule yet, but because blue and green are one of my favorite color pairings, I'm going to prematurely call this month my favorite. : )

  13. Those shoes are adorable!

Oooh, lovely landscaping at that house; we used to own a Victorian style like that, and my parents also painted it lavender with darker purple trim. It was one of the fashionable colors back in the Victorian era, they discovered in research.
