I felt so daring today: I mixed patterns!
I usually play with texture more than I play with patterns, but when I held this sweater up to this dress (yes, it's a dress, last worn here, 3rd outfit) I loved how the stripes played off the floral. This is the second wear of this sweater (last worn here, 2nd outfit) and it will not be staying in my closet. I really like it, but I think the neckline is not quite right for me. Too high, and that pucker-y thing isn't the greatest on me. Oh well, I only paid $11.00 for it, and I've now worn it 3 times on the blog and a few times around the house. That's good cost per wear, right there.
One of my colleagues complimented me on the scrolly leaf earrings and the metal hip belt. "They don't quite match, but they go," she said. Exactly! I'm also wearing a simple stretchy red coral/silver bracelet.
Someone's lurking! |
Sweater (Banana Republic, thrifted), dress (Desigual), shoes (Poetic Licence), earrings/bracelet (Plum), belt (gift from Mom from London).
Oooh, this kind of pattern matching I like---nicely done!
ReplyDeleteI don't know--this top goes so well with the skirt that I might be tempted to KEEP the top.
ReplyDeleteI really like that pattern mixing Sheila :) The greens work well together, and your belt is lovely.
ReplyDeletegreat outfit. that dress is one of my favourites so i'm glad to see it one last time!!
ReplyDeleteThis is the type of pattern mixing I like! Small with big, similar color families, and the belt even gets in on the jive too.
ReplyDeleteHee, he looks so sweet peeking around the corner.
I really like this combo! Great dress, I'd love to buy a Desigual dress someday (mayne i'll thrift on ;)

That's some of the best pattern mixing I've seen. Kitty loves it too!
ReplyDeleteLOVE love the patterns against each other! Color, yay!
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of pattern matching and you've done an excellent job at it!
ReplyDeleteLove your pattern mixing, well done!! :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it!!! The colors, the play of the accessories!!
ReplyDeleteIf your Kermit shoes wanna come east with the aqua Fluevogs......
Glad the Kermit shoes won't ever leave! :) I understand the feeling of the neckline on that sweater. I actually just thrifted a similar top, but it's a tank top for summer. I love that belt! And I see that little peeker over there!!
ReplyDeleteYummy Desigual dress you got there, my friend! I like the mixing and the overall look is really cool.
ReplyDeleteThe patterns are very complementary. Good call! And the Kermit shoes are definite keepers.
ReplyDeleteYou aren't having good luck with striped tops this month. I'm sure you'll find something even better to replace them.
Hi to your sneaky kitty Vizzini!
Nicely done - i tried the same today (havent posted). I feel weird, i think yours worked... mine I am not sure-
ReplyDeleteWhile the top looks lovely on you, you're obviously not happy with it. Glad you don't settle. Also glad you played with patterns- fun and complimentary.
