It's been a quiet and yet still busy long weekend for us. L and I did brunch at Christie's Pub after he attended ceremonies at the Cenotaph. I can't do the crowds but listened to a very moving tribute on local radio.
Somber for me, although you can't keep the colour too far away.
- Blue sweater - Intimate, vintage 60s, thrifted; last worn here in September with the goldfish skirt
- Wool dress - Romeo Gigli, vintage 90s, consignment; last seen here in January with brocade skater boots (gave them away)
- Boots - Woodland East End, Fluevog; last worn here (2nd outfit) in June with primary colours for brunch in June
- Cape (below) - Bodybag by Jude, consignment, gift from L; last seen here in October
I have another sweater layered under that, plus layers under that (camisole, slip).
Outerwear - I'm dressed like a poppy.
I adore this flannel-backed cape. It has a hidden pouch inside, as I'm demonstrating here.
I am also showing my purse worn underneath.

- Beret - Parkhurst, consignment
- Silk scarf - Halston, vintage 70s, thrifted

The stuff:
After brunch, L and I bought ourselves a new mattress and pillows. I rolled around on beds in these shoes to the admiration of our lovely salesperson.

Blue bling:
I reworked some of the elements from my earlier outfit - the cobalt sweater, the jewelry.
I swapped the dress for plaid trousers.
Some old, some new.

- Anneke & Lars ring - vintage mall
- Kyanite/silver ring - consignment
After our shopping outing, we chilled out at home for the afternoon, including a nap with Vizzini in preparation for an evening of board games at Cat and Ross's.
Ahoy, I see games in my future! This a very casual ensemble for me - you can tell because I'm wearing my very old "house" glasses which are 15+ years old - I wore them at the start of this blog (very first outfit post here).
- Cardigan - Banana Republic, consignment; last seen here in July with summer brights
- Sweater - as above
- Trousers - H&M, consignment; last worn here in January for a Mom-Day at Blenkinsop Lake
- Slippers - not tracked, thrifted
- Boots (below) - Doc Martens; last seen here in October with sequined plaid
- Sleeveless coat (below) - Only, thrifted; last worn here in October
I swapped the dress for plaid trousers.
Added my ultra-cozy wooly cardigan.
I ended up not needing it - Cat and Ross's place was lovely and warm.

Outerwear. I did need it on the walks there and back.
It was spitty light rain, but on the way home it was merely windy. L and I spent most of Sunday watching football, then enjoyed a bonus weekend evening of board games. We relaxed on Monday, then remembered, "Whoops, we have a concert to go to!"
I guess I'd better get dressed. This outfit was good for sitting, standing and dancing. We went to see The Beaches (link here 'cause I love) - a band we've now seen four times.
L and I walked downtown and had dinner at Bin 4 Burger Lounge, then strolled over to the Royal Theatre, where we found Casey and his daughters, plus Nick.
Layered up for the cold, although I was warm in the theatre in my snuggly sweater dress.
This was their last stop on their Canadian tour, and they're headed off to sold out shows in Europe - it's awesome to see some home-grown talent become popular (they're from Toronto).

Another busy week ahead - I'd better get my beauty sleep.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
Lovely dress. I've never heard of Gigli before. Thanks for expanding my horizon.
ReplyDeleteThe proportions of the black dress are perfect.
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's actually grey.
DeleteYou look positively fabulous.. every look is pure perfection!
ReplyDeleteThree fabulous outfits and some equally fabulous and very dynamic poses, too!
ReplyDeleteYou can tell that black dress is posh, its cut really well. The Rupert Bear trousers are so cheery on a dreary day and the checked dress with the groovy sleeves is gorgeous.
I'm off to follow your Beaches link! xxx
The first outfit is gorgeous! The less colour, the better for me, lol. Boardgames with friends....... you can wake me up in the middle of the night for that!
ReplyDeleteComfy. Cozy, Classy. The dresses, the accessories, the colorful pants, top and sweater, each outfit is blended beautifully! Your long weekend sounds like just the right blend of a little activity and a bit more R&R time (hanging out with friends and board games is definitely R&R!)
ReplyDeleteCheers, Laurie.
Fabulous outfits as always Sheila! The first one in particular made my heart sing, and it doesn't look somber to me at all. Loving the pops of blue and red, and again, perfectly coordinated with your hair!
ReplyDeleteThe Sportmax dress you wore to the concert on Monday is an absolute stunner, and hurray for the return of the Grape Ape!
I hope you managed to get your beauty sleep and are ready for the busy week ahead. I'm so hearing you on this, my friend. xxx
I love the black combo with the purple tights. The second outfits is very pretty. The Banana yellow cardigan is such a statement piece! Great colours. The third look is very stylish too.
ReplyDeleteNot one but two lovely sweater dress! Bonus. You looked wonderful in both of them and all the boots were fabulous including the lovely yellow Docs. I do admire those plaid trousers with the yellow cardi; such a lovely colour combination. Sounds like you had a very pleasant weekend indeed - and no thrifting!
ReplyDeletexxx
Those outfits are just fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteI like the black dress with the blue tights and boxy boots. Not a fan of the yellow cardigan.
