And what's this I see in my future? Another year!
I'm now officially 55, old enough be a Boss Lady, Noted Kook, and a senior at the local drugstore's "senior days." Ack!
L and I had a nice breakfast in the morning (which I made), then I opened my presents from him.
We had a quiet day watching football.

A nap or two on the couch.
And then got dressed to go to my ex-sister-in-law's for Thanksgiving dinner. It was lovely to see my mom, my two eldest nieces (Zoe and Hannah), and Cynthia's Family She Chooses (many of whom I also know).

I'm the cool auntie, all incognito.
Mostly, I wanted to be warm and comfortable. A sweater dress is those things. I did haul up the sleeves to keep them from dragging through the gravy.

- Purse - Rebecca Minkoff, Linear Studded Rocker Bag, 2009, consignment
The stuff:
Ah, I'm happy to have these boots back. Aren't they beautiful? I've had them for 10 years!
Spooky bling:
It's time to break out all of my thematic accessories for the month of October (and beyond). These were much admired by the Thanksgiving crowd.
- Earrings - local
- Brutalist ring - vintage 70s, Mom's
- Snake ring - c. 1985, BC Museum gift shop
- Spider ring - c. 1986, gift from Mom & Dad
Presents from L:
Three books, chocolate (I ate all the Ritter and the fancy handmade chocolates), socks that say "I never fart" (HEE), and gift cards from Fluevog and Turnabout. Woo hoo! L totally gets me.
When in doubt, Fluevog or chocolate.
My ex-sister-in-law, Cynthia, gave me a box of Purdy's chocolates (a local company) in an awesome spooky coffin shape with a pumpkin-foil face. I don't know what happened to them?! They're all gone! Someone must have eaten them...We both still have Monday off, but plan on doing pretty much nothing.
Happy Thanksgiving to my Canadian friends and readers!

ReplyDelete55 rocks, in spite of being considered a senior. What are they thinking? That said, I was recently given a discount for the over-60s, which was nice in a way, but a bit ack as well! xxx

ReplyDeleteI used to cringe at the Senior Discount until I figured out grocery shopping on Wednesday was saving me a LOT! I definitely ask if they forget to give it to me. That box of chocs is adorable. I hope you saved the box to keep trinkets in.
Great outfit too.
