Return of the Blue Goldfish

Thank goodness for "first" Friday (aka Wednesday) and having a day off tomorrow. Let's celebrate!
With...blue goldfish!

  • Sweater - Intimate, vintage 60s, thrifted; last seen here in December 2022 with orange and sequins
  • Skirt - Eva Franco, thrifted, Vancouver; first worn here (2nd outfit) in April for a shopping trip
  • Shoes - Pilgrim Truths, Fluevog; last seen here in June with a dotty skirt
  • Thermoplastic jacket (below) - Adidas X Fiorucci, consignment; last worn here in May over thrifted Gaultier

Since I'd only worn this skirt once since I bought it in Vancouver in the early spring, I wanted to wear it again.
I bemoaned the lack of pockets, but the print is amazing. That goldfish is looking at me...

The sweater is a vintage one.
But better quality than current - it's close to 60 years old, and is still going strong.

I had visions of wearing my scarf in a jaunty way at the office, but I never did.
It does look good - I like the pop of colour up at the neck.

Incognito. Instead, I just wore it with my thermoplastic jacket.
When I got home, I had to wipe all the moisture off the plastic!

The stuff:
I get a happy thrill from wearing my French-made vintage 1970s Halston silk scarf.

Red bling:
And one blue!

  • Silk scarf - Halston, vintage 70s, thrifted
  • Leather/steel cuff - Rimanchik
  • Red bracelet - vintage mall
  • Silver/red enamel ring - antique shop, Sidney
  • Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes
  • Earrings - Tania Gleave, Granville Island

  1. I know what you mean with the pop of colour near your face, but I think the outfit looks better without the pretty scarf. Awesome skirt.

  2. Keep meaning to say how flattering I find your haircut the way it gently frames your face. The skirt has perfect fall colors though I have to confess that it’s your top that drew my first outfit reaction. I have a thing for blues that pop, which this blue does in the light. Nonetheless, the entire ensemble (yup, that includes accessories :)) makes me think of fall leaves, a brisk walk in cool air, hot apple cider and apple pie. Mmmm :)

    Cheers, Laurie

    1. Oh, thank you, Laurie! Funny, most people haven't even noticed I got it cut!

I also love blues that pop (I have multiple sweaters around this shade of blue). I should make a crumble!

  3. Never mind the lack of pockets, that skirt is fantastic! The blue sweater is just perfect with it, and I'm loving all the pops of red. Seeing your outfit pop up in my reader cheered me up no end.
Lucky you having two Fridays, but doesn't the second Friday feel a bit like a second Monday? xxx

    1. I'll miss it over the winter, but it's definitely a keeper. Thanks, Ann! I'm so glad to give you a bit of cheer. <3

The 2nd/real Friday is a "clean up" day with minor chores at work - often not very busy.

    1. I have too many skirts - I'm just happy that I'm wearing this one twice in one season.
