May the Fourth Be With Me: Darth Duster, Regret-Me-Not Trousers and Pops of Pink

Phew, is this week over yet? It feels SO LONG! Better keep wearing that Clothing As Armour.
Since we have some VIPs in the office tomorrow - May 4th aka Star Wars Day! - I can't really get my Darth Sheila on like I normally would.

  • Duster cardigan - California Moonrise, thrifted; purchased here for $14.95
  • Blouse - Tatum & Olivia, consignment; last worn here in February with a lot of plaid
  • Trousers - One by Simonsen; first seen here in May 2022 with these same shoes
  • Shoes - Effortless Bebe, Fluevog; last worn here in April with jungle and sneaky Adidas

I do have a very "Sheila" outfit planned (lots of colour), but won't be wearing my Star Wars shoes (here and here), L's Darth Vader tie (here) or acting out a very corny scene featuring Vizzini the Hutt from Empire Strikes Back (here, highly recommended).
I also wore the entire bottom half of this outfit when our regional VP visited last May. He only sees me once or twice a year, and I have a fashion reputation to uphold!

So I Darth-ed today in this new-to-me duster cardigan, which replaces my chartreuse green one (this one here, gone to the great giveaway pile for the final time!) which never held its shape. Always Be Upgrading - and showing that it doesn't always have to be an identical item that gets upgraded.
I was happy to find this lovely knit duster matched these regret-me-not trousers that I'd hastily put up for grabs and snatched back before the Winesday Women went at the pile.

I've only worn them the one time! And I liked them today as much as I did in the first outfit.
Which is...a lot! They don't wrinkle, they fit great and I have loads of pink, purple and burgundy in my wardrobe.

Without the cardi - I took it off after arriving at the office, as I was glowing mightily from my walk to work.
I've been hauling all the leftover clothing giveaway items to my office all week, and will be distributing them to my favourite coworkers. There are 7 ginormous bags of clothes and shoes, and they're heavy!

All done up - it was slightly chilly on the way to work.
I lasted about a block on the way home before shucking my scarf and gloves.

Accoutrements:
I tend to drop the this picture in the summer, and include my few accoutrements in the "Stuff" picture.

  • Scarf - Smoking Lily, Mom's via Diane via Andrea, c. 1997
  • Gloves - Danier Leather

The stuff:
Pops of pink. These shoes are a firm favourite.

Bold bling:
I used to refer to the clear crystal ring as my "Death Star" ring as it's shaped like the cone of lasers that blow up Alderaan in Star Wars (showing my full nerd cred).

  • Belt - vintage 80s, thrifted
  • Silver/Lucite cuff - Alexis Bittar, consignment, Vancouver
  • Heart crystal cuff - Juicy Couture, consignment
  • Crystal/silver ring - Soul Flower
  • Silver/amethyst ring - vintage mall
  • Earrings - vintage fair

And don't the earrings remind you of something? "That's no moon!" Happy Star Wars Day...a day early!

  3. When I looked at the calendar yesterday I thought of you straightaway expecting you to be wearing those Star wars shoes! Love the mix of tailored trousers and super feminine ruffled blouse and the maxi length cardi looks very luxe.
Hauling seven bags of clothing to work? That sounds like hard work. It kills us just loading the van these days! xxx

  4. Like Vix, I instantly thought of you yesterday, when I typed the date on top of an invoice!
You've definitely got a reputation to uphold here! Still, I absolutely love this outfit, and I was right to think it was madness you'd put those trousers in the giveaway pile. I'm glad you saw sense in the end and rescued them!
Wow, hauling seven bags of clothing to work sounds truly exhausting. I'm overheating at just the thought! Your co-workers are so lucky with a colleague like you! xxx

  7. I really like how you incorporated the elements into your outfit a day early - you look so good in these pants! It's really good you were able to grab them out of the giveaway pile and give them another wear, definitely something you could wear a lot more!
