Dress Week: Moo Marimekko, Copper and Pink

And now for the finale of Dress Week, my Marimekko "cow" dress. MOO!
Heh, it's Friday and I'm feeling a little loopy. This is a long weekend in Canada, yee haw!

  • Shirt - Denver Hayes, consignment; last worn here in April with a jungle jacket and lace
  • Dress - Marimekko for Uniqlo, consignment; last seen here in July 2022 with this same shirt
  • Shoes - Sol Sana; last worn here in April with swooshy velvet and animals

This is only my 3rd wearing of this 100% cotton pocketed dress, but it's already a favourite.
I haven't been all that creative with it, though - I wore this same pink sleeveless shirt (see the collar?) last time too.

I did remember that I liked bigass necklaces with it, so I pulled out some of my copper collection.
My colleague Nour loved my velvet shoes. They're yours if/when I get tired of them!

I know this Marimekko pattern is supposed to be stones (the circles are irregular).
But I always see cow.

Incognito.
And doing my Sleeve Trick with this gorgeous pashmina. It worked perfectly again! I think I'm onto something.

The stuff:
I've worn the shoes 10 times - even though I don't wear them in "the wild" outside, they are still getting dinged and worn (that toe!). Stuff is meant to be used, though.

Copper bling:
I love my coppers!

  • Pashmina (not shown) - Portolano, thrifted
  • Copper ball necklace/ball bracelet - vintage 1960s, vintage expo
  • Long copper necklace - vintage 60s, consignment
  • Wide copper bracelet (matching earrings, not worn) - Renoir, vintage 50s, vintage
  • Skinny copper bracelet - Renoir, vintage 50s, thrifted
  • Shiny copper rings - Glee
  • Earrings - vintage expo

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! I'll be back on Monday with tales of adventure (and there are definitely shenanigans in the works!), so please pop in! Thanks for visiting my corner of the blogoverse.

  1. Yay for Dress Week! Thoroughly enjoyed your selections, and I second your calling of this dress your Cow Dress. Those spots are definitely cow spots!

As you head off into a long weekend just wanted to share our good news. :) Fred has been weaned off yet another medicine and starting with this coming Friday we will be making clinic visits once every other week, and the visits will be an hour in duration instead of 3 hours. Yippee!

Typing this Saturday morning and I am certain you will soon be into your weekend shenanigans!
See you back here in a few days. :)

    Cheers, Laurie

  2. I can't see stones, so yes, the Moo dress it is! It's a stunner. Marimekko for Uniqlo you say? How could I have missed that? The dress doesn't need much else, so the copper bling, velvet shoes and pink sleeveless shirt are just perfect!
Have a fabulous extended weekend Sheila! We have just a regular two-day one but I've tagged Monday on regardless, as I couldn't take my usual Friday! xxx

    1. Good for you, Ann - I don't think a 5-day week is something I want anymore.

Thanks so much - I have another dress that's Marimekko for Uniqlo, my purple/green/black S dress (a thin sweater dress).

  3. This is such a great dress and even if you did wear the sleeveless shirt under it before, it's a winning combination so definitely should be repeated! The pashmina turned statement sleeves is a very clever trick too :)

  5. I see cow, too - I had a fake fur cow skirt in the 1990s and still kick myself for passing it on. I can't believe you've only wore that dress three times, it's ace! xxx

  6. You may have worn it like this before, it is still a very good outfit. It is completely right.
