Twofer: Lavender and Orange VIP; Chicks' Movie Night

One more day...I can make it! Today was a whirlwind with the VIPs visiting our office, plus a giant quarterly meeting.
I have had this outfit planned since I snagged this lavender wrap cardi out of the giveaway pile last weekend.

  • Cardigan - Kersh; last worn here in July 2022 with...this same dress!
  • Dress - Talbots, thrifted; last seen here in July 2022 with this exact cardigan!
  • Shoes - Sole Talk Lenora, Fluevog; first worn here in April with orange and blue

Totally profesh, but also my own personal whackitude. I saw a ton of my coworkers, some for the first time in three years and gave/received many hugs. And lots of compliments, especially on my hair matching my sweater.
I am amused that I've worn this cardigan with the same orange accessories here, in May 2021. I do like a good formula!

The dress is so pretty but not too twee even though the print is actually a floral.
The hemline has multiple godets (inserts for fullness) for extra swooshiness - you can see it's still a blur from me getting into place for the timer.

Without the cardigan, although I never took it off.
I usually only wear this dress once a year. It's a winner, though.

So many dresses, so little time!
Love this shape - tulip skirts always work well on me.

Incognito.
Sheila? Nope, haven't seen her.

The stuff:
The first time I wore these shoes, I played off the orange and blue. This time, I did orange and purple. I also walked 5 blocks to and from our meeting venue at a good clip and they were fantastic.

Orange and purple bling:
I'll be wearing both of these sets many times over the next few months. Get used to 'em!

  • Bangles - thrifted
  • Orange bangle - consignment
  • Earrings - vintage expo
  • Necklace - Banana Republic, consignment
  • Silver/amethyst ring - vintage mall
  • Steel/Lucite ring - Calvin Klein, thrifted

I raced home after work and got changed to head back to town and join my chicks for a movie night. We went to see "Are You There, God? It's Me, Margaret", which was an integral book (along with all the other Judy Blume books) in my young adulthood.
Comfy, but still stylin'.

  • Jacket - Dolce & Gabbana menswear, consignment; last worn here in March with velvet faux
  • Cashmere sweater - Prada, consignment; last seen here in April with paillettes and a pirate skirt
  • Trousers - H&M x Morris, thrifted, Sidney; last worn here (2nd outfit) in September 2022 for brunch with silk
  • Sneakers - Steve Madden, thrifted; last seen here (3rd outfit) in December 2022 for traveling in mink to a party

It got cloudier over the day and much cooler, after yesterday's balmy temps. A jacket is needed.
I layered a cashmere sweater underneath (and a cami under that).

The jacket is menswear, and I always boggle at the sheer number of pockets.
These trousers are stretchy and I love the green, cream and brown pattern.

They match my sweater!
I never took my jacket off.

I needed my accoutrements!
Movie theatres are so darned chilly.

Zipped up.
Ready to recline. I walked to town, then walked home with Cat and Yvonne partway.

Accoutrements:
Silk scarves are warm.

  • Purse - Rebecca Minkoff, consignment
  • Scarf - Celine, thrifted
  • Gloves - Danier

The stuff:
Comfy shoes. I wore little fishnet socklets with them.

Delicate bling:
Lots of chains.

  • Necklace/earrings - Plum
  • Chain/leather bracelet - thrifted
  • Gold bracelet - Dad's

And now, my friends, I'm off for the weekend. I'll be back on Sunday with tales of adventure. Maybe some cat pictures.
"You know what you need? More cat pictures."

Silly little bub. He's so glad to see me - look at those paws grabbing me. Have a great weekend, my friends! Thank you so much for stopping by!

  1. Shelbee mentioned that movie too. I hope it will play here too. I had hoped to see that cardigan when you took it out of the giveaway pile last week, it's gorgeous! Love your movie night outfit a lot! Fabulous shoes.

  2. I saw that film advertised at the cinema this afternoon, I loved Judy Blume as a kid! It looks brilliant.
Your stylised roses dress is a fabulous shape and those trousers look to be far better quality than the other garments on offer in the H&M/Morris & Co collab. Look at Vizzini's sweet face!
Have a fabulous weekend, my friend. xxx

  3. That dress is gorgeous and looks fantastic on you. I love that the lavender wrap cardi almost exactly matches the colour of your hair. The shoes and orange bling couldn't have been more perfect with it. It's good to see the Jello-shot necklace again, I could never tire of that one!
Loving the H&M x Morris trousers combined with the posh Prada sweater too. I haven't been to a movie theatre in absolutely ages! xxx

  5. I really like your office outfit, the cardigan and dress are so good together and the orange accessories are fun :) I keep ogling your studded Rebecca Minkoff. There's one on ebay here that's from the same line but a different style and I keep looking at it. Haven't bid yet...but one can never have too many navy bags, and you always rock these studs! :)

  6. Lately my iPad hasn't been playing nice with comments, hence the delay in commenting. Your outfits from the prior post as well as this post all have me smiling. I like the individual pieces as well as how you paired them as outfits, plus the jewelry that accompanies each outfit.

Not only does everything look wonderful on you, but they also look quite comfortable. I know that when you (or I or anyone) feels comfortable in their clothing it has a positive impact on personal demeanor. It's also empowering.

Imagining you are enjoying a fabulous weekend (typing this on Sunday) with weekend weather as glorious as that which has arrived in New York!

    Cheers, Laurie
