Pleats, and Parting With Purple

I put this outfit together last week, so it was just a matter of accessorizing.
I love an easy outfit for a Monday, don't you?

  • Jacket - Tahari, consignment; last seen here in March 2022 with florals
  • Sparkly tee - Ted Baker, consignment; last worn (and Flashbacked) here in May 2022 with navy and blue velvets
  • Skirt - Babaton, consignment; first seen here in November with stripes and chunky shoes
  • Shoes - Room 502 Entrance, Fluevog; last worn here in December 2022 with the S Dress
  • Coat (below) - Tadmor, vintage 60s, vintage mall; last seen here a couple of weeks ago

It's impossible to photograph properly, but my jacket is a rich violet purple velvet on the body, with knit arms.
A sparkly tee.

A stretchy, comfy pleated skirt. Swooshy pleats for the win!
I wore a vintage slip under it all.

Masked up.
And zipped up. I don't wear it like this in the wild, as it's a wee boob-smushy. Only when I'm in outerwear mode.

Outerwear! Ta-dah!
This coat is softening up nicely - it's good quality suede leather.

Accoutrements:
Soft things.

  • Toque - gift from Tammy
  • Brooch - Monet, vintage fair
  • Scarf - thrifted
  • Gloves - thrifted
  • Mask - by Mom

The stuff:
This is it, the last wearing of these lovely purple booties? shoe-booties? shoots? Whatever you call them, they are too darned high! This is their 22nd wearing, and they've had a good run.

To enjoy them in their full glory, and bid them a fond adieu, feel free to revisit the last few outfits in the picture links below, and the full Flashback of the previous 17 outfits here

I have my eye on a new pair of purple Fluevogs, a velvet low-heeled shoe in deep purple velvet from their upcoming Jimi Hendrix collection, part two...and I have a stash of unspent gift cards! We'll see if I can wait till our anniversary for my next pair!

Silvery bling:
Lots of detail, that's what I like.

  • Belt - B-Low the Belt, thrifted
  • Crystal hinged cuff - Swarovski, consignment, gift from L
  • Heart cuff - Juicy Couture, consignment
  • Anneke & Lars ring - vintage mall
  • Silver/amethyst ring - vintage mall
  • Earrings - thrifted
  • Umbrella pin - vintage 1920s, vintage mall, gift from L

  1. Goodbye beautiful purple shoes!! I've enjoyed your tenure!
What I'm loving even more is the loud array of fabrics this outfit is combining! Gawjus!
I like that belt particularly- tis very striking and opulent!
I see purple suede and it makes me sad as I lost one of a pair of much beloved and comfy purple, suede boots! Kxx

  2. It's hard to get some colours right, isn't it, particularly on a dark day. I love the sound of a rich violet purple velvet, though, and that pleated skirt looks utterly comfy and swooshy.
Your suede coat, like a lot of your outerwear, is giving me serious coat envy!
Such a shame about the shoes, but I'm hearing you: they would definitely be too high for me too. Can't wait to see the Fluevogs you've got your eye on. I don't think I've ever owned a pair of purple shoes or boots. xxx

  3. I love black, but rarely wear it these days as I feel it makes my complexion look a little washed out. Assuming you skirt is black, that's a good way to wear it with a little subtle sparkle and a deep purple. Beautiful earrings and I'm loving that cute vintage umbrella pin! x

  4. I like the richness of this outfit with the purple and greys and the texture! It's a shame those boots aren't working for you any more, I hope you manage to get the flatter pair you have your eye on to replace these :)

  5. It is indeed hard to see the purple but I'll take your word for it. Well styled.

  6. I love those bruise-like colours. Winter's a nightmare for us poor bloggers, the colours never stay true in the dingy light.
Twenty-two wears in a good innings for those lovely shoes, I'm sure it won't take long to find a groovy replacement. xxx
