Bronze, Orange and Dragons, With Janet

Monday already? That weekend went too fast! I met up with my teen-years bestie Janet after work, so I dressed for her.
Janet and I got up to many shenanigans when we were younger (we met when she was 12 and I was 13) - she's one of the few people who utterly gets me. We always just pick up like it hasn't been a year since we just saw each other.

  • Top - Jac Dale, vintage 80s, consignment; purchased here for $35.00
  • Trousers - Long Tall Sally, consignment; last worn here in October 2022 with orange and yellows
  • Shoes - Chanii B; last seen here in December 2022 with copper and sequins
  • Coat (below) - Halston, vintage 70s, consignment, Sidney; last worn here in December 2022

My Best Bronze top upgrade (Always Be Upgrading!) is a success!
I loved wearing this top - I felt like a disco diva in it. It was a little chilly without a jacket/blazer, though.

I'd originally planned to wear a pencil skirt wit it, but I overindulged a bit too much over the holidays.
I preferred my Boss Lady orange pants anyway.

Masked up:
Pockets!

Outerwear. Of course I had to wear my Halston for Janet.
We ate tapas and chatted for 2.5 hours - the time flew by!

Accoutrements:
The perfectly matching scarf.

  • Scarf - Alexander McQueen, consignment, Vancouver
  • Gloves - Ralph Lauren, consignment
  • Mask - by Mom

The stuff:
Teal shoes to match the bits of colour in my jewelry.

Dragon bling:
The necklace/bracelet pieces are dragons.

  • Belt - thrifted
  • Necklace/bracelet - vintage 50s, vintage expo, gift from L
  • Snake bracelet - vintage mall, gift from L
  • Earrings - vintage mall
  • Brutalist ring - vintage mall
  • Spinner ring - Twang & Pearl

First wearing of my new-to-me snake bracelet - I like that it has a lot of little colours in it.

I'm making a mental promise to myself to get together with Janet more often! People who get you are invaluable - just like all of you wonderful blog-friends out there! Thank you!

  1. Yes to spending time with people like Janet who get you! It doesn't matter how long it's been since you last saw each other, you can just pick up when you left off.
I bet she was thrilled with your outfit. The proportions of the Boss Lady pants worked perfectly with that fabulous bronze top and I'll never get tired of seeing the Halston! xxx

  2. Having just read your teal outfit post, I see you've moved onto orange, which is an endlessly cheerful colour - and a great pairing for teal of course. That bronze top is stunning as is your Halston coat.
It's lovely to have such an enduring friendship and yes to making more time for good friends. x

  3. Old friends that you can slip back into friendship like a favorite sweater are the best! The orange sure would pick up the fun mood!

  5. Your outfit totally made my heart sing Sheila! Your orange Boss Lady pants have found their perfect companion in the bronze glamour-puss top. Disco Diva indeed!
How absolutely lovely to get together with your teen-years bestie, especially one who totally gets you. I'm still in contact with mine, but we have definitely grown apart and no longer have that click. In total contrast, I reconnected with one of my high school friends, Inneke, after 30 years in 2009, and we haven't looked back since. Even our husbands have become friends! xxx

  6. Loving the boss lady pants and how colourful and well coordinated this outfit is! It's great you got some time with your friend and that it really seemed to boost your mood - I'm sure that the awesome bright orange helped too, the bronze looks so good with it!
