90s Dress, Cute Boots and a Trapped Cat

Welcome back to the morning Stair Picture!
It's still a little dark, but it's getting lighter every day. I've missed these.

  • Dress - Decisions, vintage 90s, thrifted; last worn here in February 2022 (I was in Chatelaine!)
  • Boots - Libby Smith Belleville, Fluevog; last seen here in December 2022 with blue and velvet
  • Coat (below) - Auckie Sanft, vintage 60s, vintage fair; last worn here in November 2022

Blurry Castle view.
I was in a rush!

I always feel good in this jammy dress.
It's SO 90s to me - specifically, 1990.

I wore a very similar one to my Mom & Dad's 25th wedding anniversary dinner.
This specific dress is very swooshy - it's a bias cut skirt.

Look at all that fabric!
And yet it does not get caught in my chair wheels at work. Magic!

Masked up.
I have a rosy pink cami on underneath that low neckline.

Outerwear - the Fuzzy Flamingo!
I felt positively exuberant in this! But I was cold - this is a Church Coat, not a winter coat.

Accoutrements:
I wore the scarf on the outside of my coat on the way home (much more stylin'). It was warm and not too thick.

  • Scarf - Missoni for Target, consignment; purchased here for $18.40
  • Gloves - consignment
  • Mask - by Mom

The stuff:
Cute boots, right? I've had them for 12 years - this is my 23rd wearing of them, and the 3rd time worn with this dress! That is a comfortable heel for me.

Minimal bling:
Bigass Fendi belt! One of my best thrifts ever (it was $19.95).

  • Belt - Fendi, thrifted; last worn here in September 2022
  • Acrylic ring - consignment
  • Gold/amethyst ring - Frances Jewelers, c. 1965, Dad's

So...last night while I was blogging, I heard a noise behind me.
My view - you'll recognize my posing area, my closet door, my steamer, a mess of scarves and my overflowing giveaway bag. I didn't see anything, and the noise didn't repeat so I went back to writing my post.

Clattery scratching noises repeat.
"And just a gentle pull..."

Oh, hello, Vizzini. I see you have trapped yourself in the closet.

He likes to go under my clothes and snooze, and sometimes he sneaks in there and I don't notice. I always keep the closet door closed - lesson learned long ago, link here.
"This works on the hall doors..."

I was highly amused by his little toes and called out to him, whereupon he withdrew his paw and was silent.

I know you're in there, bud. I can see both of your paws.
"Just one good pull..."

He's on his stomach, pulling at the door from the inside...

...which is how our hallway closets open (he's opened them many many times), but pulling only works if you're on the outside of the closet.
"Curses!"

If he'd only pushed, the door would have popped open.

  1. Yay for the return of the morning Stair Picture! I can't wait for the days to get longer so that outfit photos can be made after work. Now you all are having to miss a lot of outfits :-)
That dress is the epitome floaty floral swooshiness, and I love that massive belt with it. Oh, and hello Fuzzy Flamingo, and funky Missoni scarf!
But oh no at Vizzini getting himself locked into the closet. At least he made himself heard. While Phoebe fully mastered opening doors by pulling or pushing, Bess is completely stumped by a closed door, even it's ajar! xxx

  4. That is such a pretty dress and I really like that belt with it, and the pretty pink coat even if it wasn't as warm as you would have liked for the weather. Vizzini is adorable locked in the wardrobe trying to get out. I'm always wary when I hear noises or scratches. One time I freaked out thinking someone was trying to smash in our security screen, and ripped the door open to find a possum crawling up the screen, haha. It went from terrifying noises to adorable possum!

  5. The dress is gorgeous and so is the coat. There was no detail photo of the lovely brooch you wore on your coat.
My cat does the same as Vizzini. getting into closets behind my back and then getting locked in.
