Grey Flannel Pleats and Sparkly Stripes

Very rapidly, we've reached the point where the Stair Pictures don't turn out because it's too dark in the morning.
Colour me not impressed, Mother Nature! We have the "fall back" time change this weekend, so we're doubly forked.

  • Vest - True Religion, consignment; last worn here in June with this same striped top and grey belt
  • Top - M by Missoni, thrifted; last seen here in June with this vest
  • Skirt - Babaton, thrifted; purchased here for $24.95
  • Shoes - Mission Monica, Fluevog; last worn here in January with tweed and swirls
  • Fuzzy Flamingo coat (below) - Auckie Sanft, vintage 60s, vintage fair; last seen here in May

I built this outfit around the new-to-me grey flannel pleated skirt.
It was excellent, swooshy and comfortable, but did not get in the way or get eaten by my office chair.

I like the slightly wonky proportions of this outfit.
Offset with the clunky shoes.

Masked up.
It's dark purple - the sparkly striped shirt has lines of purple, pink, orange, grey and black.

Outerwear - my colleague Glenn asked me if I matched my mask to my outerwear.
Nope, I match the mask to the outfit.

And then I pick the outerwear.
Incognito. It's still sunny but brrr, still hovering around 8-9 degrees during the day. I was fully done up!

Accoutrements:
Yay, I finally have a purple set - and with glove options. These ones are thin leather and unlined; I also have a pair that are thicker leather with cashmere lining.

  • Beret - consignment
  • Scarf - fake Coach (Goach!), thrifted; purchased here for $6.95
  • Gloves - consignment; purchased here for $20.00
  • Mask - by Mom

The stuff:
Yes, I'm totally saving my new Fluevog boots for my last two days of work this week! These beauties always elicit gasps of admiration. They are super-comfy and squishy - that's an all-rubber sole/heel. See the angels?

Bold bling:
The necklace is junky and starting to show coppery underneath the silver finish - into the giveaway pile it goes!

  • Belt - B-Low the Belt, thrifted
  • Necklace - thrifted
  • Studded cuff - vintage 80s
  • Leather cuff - Guess, thrifted
  • Volcano ring - vintage 70s, Mom's
  • Silver/onyx ring - Toccara, vintage fair
  • Silver earrings - Brenda Schoenfeld, 1992, vintage mall

My dear colleague Rej sent me these flowers this week.
"I don't know what I would do without you!" Aw, that's so sweet. I've been helping her out with some Finance magic lately. I love having them on my desk at work.

  1. Great minds think alike! For once I've got today's outfit laid out on the bed and it's a long solid colour skirt and a stripy top. No angel-adorned shoes for me, sadly.
What a lovely card and bouquet from Rej, how great to be appreciated! xxx

I wish the powers that be would stop tinkering with the clock. I really don't it being dark at 5 pm!
Lovely flowers from your colleague. What a beautiful gesture.
I'm off to Google Fluevog shoes! x

  3. How nice to have your help appreciated!
I had a pink mohair coat that I wore to shreds. You're making me think I need another!

  4. We've already had the changeover, so now it's impossible for me to take outfit photos on my office days :-(
Your new pleated skirt is excellent, and I'm loving the sparkly striped top. And oh hello Fuzzy Flamingo! Thanks for the reminder to wear my poppy, by the way!
Those shoes are absolutely incredible, but I simply cannot wait to see your new acquisitions in action!
Aww, what a lovely colleague you've got, that is so sweet! xxx

  6. I really like that top but I'm most loving the accessories in this outfit, the belt is just perfect and I like all the chunky pieces you have! I was starting to get back into wearing more bracelets but I've gone and had another eczema flare up so it's back to simple no additional adornments until my hands and arms clear up.
