The S Dress and Vintage Green

I was happy to revisit this funky dress this season. This is only its second wearing, but it's a winner.
It's the S Dress! See it? S for Sheila! My colleague Other Sheila (hee) loved it.

  • Dress - Marimekko x Uniqlo, thrifted; first worn here in October 2021 for a Mom-Day Adventure
  • Shoes - Room 502 Entrance, Fluevog; last seen here in February for a Saturday brunch
  • Coat (below) - Jeno de Paris, vintage 70s, thrifted; last worn here in March

It's really hard to see the colours in these pics - click here for the real colours, which are a rich deep purple, black and mossy green.
I layered a vintage slip underneath and  matching purple tights (I am a creature of habit).

I dig this groovy pattern.
It's a fairly thin wool/poly knit, and was a bit chilly in the office. Brrr.

Masked up.
My colleague Stuart marveled, "Your mask matches your hair AND your dress!" Damned skippy. It's not like these things happen by accident.

Outerwear.
I was reminded anew what a lovely coat this vintage emerald green leather beauty is. It's easily 50 years old, but is still butter soft. They don't make 'em like this anymore.

Accoutrements:
Must wear all the purples!

  • Beret - consignment
  • Gloves - Danier Leather
  • Scarf - fake Coach, thrifted
  • Mask - by Mom

The stuff:
I love these shoes but OOF, they are feeling high. They're fine for a day at my desk but I was up and down between floors - lots of stairs. Feet tired!

Black bling:
I bought the massive chain necklace on drastic final markdown for $9.00 at Club Monaco in the early days of my blog - I miss those stores! It rattles like Jacob Marley's chains.

  • Belt - gift from Ruth
  • Necklace - Club Monaco
  • Fang bangle - Alexis Bittar, consignment, Sidney
  • Bangle/earrings - Alexis Bittar, consignment, gift from L
  • Poison ring - Taxco, Karen's
  • Silver/onyx ring - Toccara

  1. Haha, indeed! As if you would wear just any mask. He should know better. Lovely dress!

  2. I laughed at the mask comment. I'm sorry you were chilly I'm the office though. A sweater would have changed the look.

  4. What a fun dress, Sheila, and of course you needed to wear it with all the purples AND a matching mask! You've got such a fabulous collection of coats, and your emerald green leather trench is once again a favourite of mine.
It's been rather chilly in the office this week as well, and today I actually wore a thin knit jumper under my dress AND a chunky cardigan on top. And temperatures haven't even dropped below zero yet! xxx

  10. It is such a beautiful dress on you and I like that statement necklace with it too. I always admire how well organised your outfits are - even down to the masks! :)
