Pink, Green, an Inspiration Necklace and Houndstooth

Happy Monday, my friends! I spent some time this weekend, going through my closet, trying things on, and putting together outfits for the week. I tend to feel happier when I do this - I keep reminding myself, "Self-care isn't selfish."
I built the entire outfit around the necklace - you can get inspiration to build an outfit from anywhere.

  • Sweater - Tatyana, thrifted; last worn here in November 2022 with leopard and red
  • Skirt - Kate Spade, thrifted; last seen here in April 2022 for a Mom-Day Adventure
  • Boots - Slacker Vagabond, Fluevog; last worn here in November 2022 on a Mental Health Shop
  • Jacket (below) - Only, consignment; last seen here in November 2022 with these boots!

I don't have a lot of clothes in pink and green in my winter wardrobe, so in order to showcase it I needed to wear neutrals.
A retro-reproduction sweater found in a thrift shop for $6.95 six years ago.

I love this Kate Spade houndstooth wrap skirt.
It's a very thick woven wool fabric. I am a sucker for pleats.

Masked up.
Tying all the colours together.

I had the jacket on for part of the day, whenever I got chilly.
I've worn the jacket with the skirt before, and the jacket with the boots before, but this is the first time they've all been worn together.

Outerwear.
Of course, this is the cutest look - all the pinks look so balanced to me.

Accoutrements:
My pink "set".

  • Scarf - Alexander McQueen, consignment
  • Beret - Club Monaco, thrifted
  • Gloves - consignment
  • Mask - by Mom

The stuff:
I am looking forward to wearing these boots with my spring wardrobe. I'm reaching the end of my winter items that go with this vivid green!

Matching bling:
And there's the inspiration! This necklace will be useful with my spring wardrobe.

  • Necklace - consignment; purchased here for $15.00
  • Earrings - thrifted
  • Bracelet - vintage 1930s, vintage mall
  • Lucite/steel ring - consignment
  • Gold/amethyst ring - Frances Jewelers, c. 1965, Dad's

  3. Love your pink and green combination Sheila. I can just imagine how much fun you will have styling outfits around those glorious boots.
I have somehow gotten out of organising my outfits for the week now that I am not working very much but need to get back to the habit and it was fun and made me more imaginative.

  4. I like how you got inspired by the necklace and I really like how you wore all the different pinks so well! :)

I need to spend some more time outfit planning in my wardrobe - I have so many things to wear and ideas in my head but often when it comes down to it I'm rushing around trying to get ready - it's always easier in the mornings when I have planned out what I want to wear rather than a vague idea!

  5. I love hounds tooth, but I'll leave the length to you- I don't have the legs for it. The necklace is impressively fun to use as your starting point.

  6. Like you, I enjoy starting outfits with a single piece (like a necklace) and building on them. This skirt is very attractive.

I've been playing around with my wardrobe, putting together outfits for the week ahead on a Sunday as well. Self care is so important! xxx
