Gold Claws, Bold Brocade and Killer Orange

I had many positive reactions to today's outfit from my colleagues.
Apologies to the lovely person who hollered at me out her car window - I had my headphones in and didn't hear you! I assume you sent good vibes.

  • Dress - Zara, consignment; last worn here (3rd outfit) in November 2022 for Book Club
  • Boots - L'Artiste by Spring Step; last seen here in January 2022 for brunch
  • Coat (below) - Elizabeth and James, consignment; last worn here in October 2022

This is my sweater dress submission for Nancy and Shelbee's Good Buy/Good-Bye Book (links in the sidebar on the right under "Link Parties").
It's a killer, I think you'll agree. Insanely flattering and rock and roll.

I felt absolutely smashing.
I have an extra camisole underneath.

Masked up.
I got to meet my colleague Sasha for the first time in person today! We've worked together for over five years and never met, even though we meet every two weeks.

Outerwear.
How have I not worn this amazeballs jacket in so long?

Answer: I have a lot of coats and it's been cold, dammit.
Such a lush colour - people smiled at me as I walked home.

Accoutrements:
Fancy designer scarf.

  • Scarf - Alexander McQueen, consignment, Vancouver
  • Gloves - consignment
  • Mask - by Mom

The stuff:
Speaking of not worn in a long time! These brocade boots are very warm to wear (thick plush lining), and the colours/boldness are tricky to style. But aren't they gorgeous?

Black and gold bling:
I love all of these pieces.

  • Belt - Sangiorgio, consignment
  • Claw cuff/necklace - Ambush, "Holy Mountain" collection, 2012, consignment, Vancouver, gift from L
  • Hinged bangled - Alexis Bittar, consignment, gift from L
  • Earrings - Biko, consignment
  • Brutalist ring - vintage mall
  • Amber ring - c. 1996

Rar! Look out for my gold claws!

  1. Stunning, cheerful, flattering, powerful, colorful, bold and warming. Ingredients for a perfect jammy dress! This outfit looks like it was made for you…which it was :) And the pop of color from your jacket just adds to the already perfect outfit, kind of like the icing on the cake. :)

    Cheers from NY,
    Laurie

  3. What a fabulous outfit, Sheila! Your orange sweater dress is looking snuggly and comfy - just perfect for our weather right now - not to mention very rock 'n roll. Particularly with those brocade boots, black and gold bling and, of course, that amazing blue jacket! No wonder you got so many compliments, and of course that lady who hollered at you must have been sending you good vibes! I'm sure you totally brightened up her day! xxx
