I had this outfit waiting in the wings from my pre-planning on Sunday, only with my pink Boss Lady Pants.
When I bought this wool-blend pink skirt yesterday, I simply swapped the pants for it.- Blazer - InWear; last worn here in December 2022 with blue sequins

I always try to wear new-to-me things right away. What if it sucks? I want to know now!
It didn't suck, I'm happy to report. It was actually really nice to wear all day - the textile is thick.
I saved this outfit for Friday to give myself a mental boost as I went into the weekend. Fridays tend to be busy for me.
It definitely helped to wear this vibrant orange and pink together. I cheered up a couple of my colleagues, and I could feel it nudging my mood into a better space. My new-to-me belt is so shiny!

I matched the thin tan and brown stripe/line in the swirly pattern.
I only looked like this while we were sitting and eating at the Ruby.

It's hard to see the colours here, but my gloves, hat and scarf all feature a vivid purple.
I was feeling my 70s swagger in this outfit!

I prepped for Winesday when we got home from grocery shopping. It was cold and grey and Yvonne requested "Mt. Washington Tuna Melts", referencing the emergency meal I made when we were snowed in at Mt. Washington back here in January 2018. Can't believe it's been 5 years...
"Well, hello there!"
I opened TWO cans, to make enough for everyone (I quartered each slice to serve).
"Is there enough for me?"
There was plenty for everyone! We always have too much food.
"Okay, now you are just taunting me, Woman!"
I used three different cheeses on top: Havarti, cheddar and asiago.
"Yes, that one! Give me some tuna!"
He's opened the dishwasher by accident at least a few times, and regularly pulls cupboard doors open.
For our first Winesday of 2023, we gathered at Caro/Ron's new house (glimpsed on our limo ride here back in late April 2022). Because their new place is out beyond the airport (a 45+ minute drive), we planned Winesday as a Sleepover Pajama Party!
"Give it to me now!"
There was very loud meowing, followed by contented snorts as he wolfed it down. This is the only "people food" he has ever had (aside from stuff that falls on the floor!).

This calls for my best lounging jammies!
Unfortunately, Cat had to miss at the last minute due to some family issues, so Yvonne and I decided to pass on the sleepover and just cab out there and back.
Ah, well, I got to sleep in my own bed. However, we did miss out on Alison's Midnight Nachos and Jean's Facials For All. I'm hoping some of my gals will send pics (wait till you see the ELEVATOR in Caro's house!). Edit - thanks, Yvonne! Pics below! It was cold and damp all weekend, so I wore my mink coat out there, and everyone had fun putting it on (so heavy) and modeling in it.
We had a tour of the house, ate copious amounts of chocolate and chilled out.
Voila!
I love spending time with my gals. Accoutrements:
Not much needed.
- Scarf - Pierre Balmain, vintage, via Mom/Diane/Andrea
- Gloves - thrifted
- Mask - by Mom
Minimal bling:
Not much needed, again.
- Anneke & Lars ring - vintage mall
- Silver/onyx ring - Tocara, vintage fair
- White gold hoops - Frances Jewelers
Edited to add: Pictures! Thank you to Yvonne!
An elevator inside the house (I have never seen this before). Caro's mum can't navigate stairs, so they put this in for her. Aw...
It's Marian arriving in style in the elevator! It's pneumatic and the coolest thing ever. My gals!
From left, clockwise: Yvonne, Vero and Linda (in tiger pajamas she made!), Caro behind them, then Ali, Jean, Marian, me and Nancy.

We had a blast of crafting, playing with glue and ripping pages/images/words out of magazines and creating mood boards. We quickly took pictures of all the finished ones.

Love the pink and orange outfit -- gorgeous! Vizzini looks well and happy. Thanks for sharinng the tuna-craving cat pics!
ReplyDeleteHazaah, all of your outfits shine and your Winesday gathering is AWESOME! I LOVE that it was a sleepover for some, that it was filled with creative endeavors, wine and fun with friends, not to mention chocolate!
ReplyDeleteMay the joy of the weekend remain with you this entire week! Also, a belated Hello to you, Helen! I liked virtually walking around the other day with you two. :)
Cheers,
Laurie
The orange and pink outfit! How vibrant and cheerful
ReplyDeleteThis is Eve in Ireland btw
DeleteWeekends always go too fast!
ReplyDeleteWhat a zingy outfit you wore on Friday. The perfect mental boost indeed, and it did not only cheer up your colleagues!
Saturday's swirly patterned jeans and Prada sweater are a true match made in heaven. Another one which made my heart sing!
Oh, I do remember you being snowed in. Can't believe that was 5 years ago!
Bess goes crazy about tuna as well, as did her predecessor Phoebe.
Winesday at Caro's house looks amazing - that elevator! - and oh, I guessed your collage! xxx
Sounds like a fab weekend. Loved the orange and pink ensemble and that fabulous plaid cape! The mink coat is amazing; it looks heavy. Loved the lounging pjs - so luxurious looking. How could you not give Vizzini a little treat with that adorable pleading look?

Such a great combination in that first outfit- I adore the pink and orange! That new cape jacket is a winner.
ReplyDeleteAh, I don't blame Vizzini- love a tin of tuna!
So nice that you have these lovely girly gatherings and you have the option to stay over! I think your pyjamas are the cat's pyjamas!😁
Kezzie xx
Orange and pink together look divine and I love those funky trousers! Just when I have you down as a shoes girl, you bring out another amazing coat. Your cape coat is a beauty. I think in my eyes you are now the Coat Queen! x
ReplyDeleteI really need to give pink and orange more of a try - I've only tried a little orange accessory with pink, need to be a bit more bold, as I've seen this colour combinations on a lot of blogs recently (yours being my favourite interpretation of course!) and I always like it. The elevator in the new house looks awesome, what a great idea!
ReplyDeleteVizzini is such a little monster! Love him.
ReplyDeleteThe colour combo in the first outfit is glorious and perfection with the cape. xxx
