Back to the ol' grind today. I deployed Clothing As Armour to help me get through it.
Who doesn't love a big POW of lemon yellow?
- Sweater - Ralph Lauren, vintage 80s, thrifted; first seen here in March with primary plaids
- Skirt - Miu Miu, consignment; purchased here for $59.00
- Shoes - 5YMedio; last worn here in March with plaid and floral
- Jacket (below) - Pink Tartan, consignment; last seen here in November 2021
Getting another outfit in with this vintage cotton sweater while we still have cool weather - I thought it balanced out the studded tweed skirt.
The skirt was fun to wear, although I had no one to show it off to. The studs didn't get in the way or poke me at all, nor did they destroy my office chair. I think I would avoid sitting on anything delicate in this, like an antique textile.I'll be packing it away for the spring/summer.
I'll be so excited when I rediscover it! That's the best part of the closet swap-overs.

I wore this leaf-green velvet blazer as my outerwear today. I had visions of wearing it like this in the office but it wasn't meant to be.
The cotton sweater is too bulky under it - I couldn't do it up at all (it's always been a snug fit), and I just wore the blazer open on the way to/from work only. Fortunately, we had a lovely sunny day!

Masked up.
I'm happy to have my yellow one back.
Incognito.
I liked how the pink/yellow scarf and pink gloves made it look even springier.

- Scarf - Alexander McQueen, consignment
- Gloves - consignment
- Mask - Lazy Susan's
The stuff:
I might have found the white shoes jarring a few years ago, especially with the black lace tights, but I like the rock & roll vibe of the look.

Regret-me-not bling:
The "falling books" brooch was in the giveaway pile - I took it back when I went through everything before the big clothing swap of the weekend before last. I like the shape of it, and it covered the Ralph Lauren logo on my sweater!

- Bangle/earrings - Alexis Bittar, consignment, gift from L
- Silver/crystal ring - Soul Flower
- Shield ring - Nine West
That poloneck is a thing of joy - great idea to hide the logo with a brooch! The vibrant yellow is a perfect touch of Spring sunshine with the leaf green velvet blazer and studded skirt. xxx
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever brooch!
ReplyDeleteI love the combination of olive blazer and a yellow turtleneck. Your tights are stunning too. Such a great outfit!
ReplyDeleteThat studded tweed skirt is cute, and I'm sure you'll squeal with joy when you come across it in Autumn! The lemon yellow, pink and leaf-green combo is gorgeous and very Springlike! Love the "falling books" brooch and how you used it to disguise the jumper's logo. I've been known to do the same with large brooches and flower corsages!
ReplyDeleteI do hope your first day back to the ol' grind wasn't too bad ... xxx
No one's gonna bring you down with your own sunshine! I love the yellow with gray.
ReplyDeleteLove the unexpected pink and green with the yellow. The pieces are each so interesting if I'd seen you on the street you'd have been late for work by the time I was finished admiring it all!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pity no one saw you, well we do of course!!
ReplyDeleteI really like the studded skirt! It is very preppy meets punk!
ReplyDeleteI really like the green and yellow together even if you didn't keep the blazer on all day! And you're right, the pink scarf is such a fun spring touch! :)
ReplyDeleteStudded tweed is very cool - except in the literal sense. I can see why you're saving it for next autumn/winter. All those colours look so good together.
ReplyDeleteOoohh, lemon yellow + leaf/moss green looks sooo good together! What a fresh, beautiful colour pairing - and one that suits these gradually sunnier + warmer days of mid-spring to a tee as well.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of which, I hope that you and L had a terrific first day of May and that it leads straight into a month full of blue skies, happiness, and tons of great fashion related happenings for you both.
