Teddy Sweater and October Skirt

After a good shopping weekend, it's always a difficult choice of which new thing I want to wear first!
Today, it was this loopy-textured skirt. It just screams, "October!"

  • Sweater - H&M, consignment; first worn here in April with the Pirate Skirt
  • Skirt - Kateri, garage sale; purchased here yesterday for $12.00
  • Shoes - Mini QTees, Fluevog, consignment; last seen here in October 2017 with autumn camo
  • Coat (below) - BCBG Max Azria, thrifted; last worn here in April

Here's what the skirt's texture looks like again, to refresh your memory and since it looks like a big orangey-black blur in pictures.
Because it's a lot of texture - loops, fuzzy wool, gemstones everywhere! - I went with a solid-coloured top.

But you know I had to add texture there too! This is my teddy bear sweater - it is so soft. It has viscose in it, so the plush has a very silky feel.
It's basically a big square top, so requires some reining in at the waist. Big Belt Time!

The skirt was lovely to wear and got a lot of comments at work. However, it has no slit, so I can't take my usual ginormous strides. It does make my bum look good though (bonus!).
My complaints about lack of slit are offset by pockets. Pockets! Trimmed with more gemstones! Yesssss...

Outerwear - again, far too warm to wear this after work, but it was lovely in the morning against the brisk chill in the air.
I carried the gloves home in my bag, and wore the coat open walking home, but I still ended up a sweaty mess. The top's in the wash!

  • Leather/cashmere gloves - Club Monaco, consignment

The stuff:
I loved how well these shoes went with the skirt - the colours were just perfect. These are amazingly comfy to wear (they are the same heel/family as my gorgeous brown boots I wore on the weekend (2nd outfit here)).

Matchy bling:
Only one belt would do! A Big Belt.

  • Belt - Fendi, thrifted
  • Leather/chain wrap - local
  • Leather chain bracelet - thrifted
  • Eelskin bracelet - faux Gucci, c. 1986, gift from Mom & Dad, from Italy
  • Earrings - Plum
  • Floral ring - Sarah Coventry, vintage shop, Powell River
  • Green stone ring - consignment

  1. I'm working backwards so I'm dying to see what you bought this weekend!
That bun-enhancing skirt is fab on you and the teddy bear top looks so luxe and snuggly.
The shoes are amazing. I had a look on Uk eBay at Fluevogs and found the most incredible pair of lime green, purple and teal suede clogs bought in Canada in 1992 - luckily for my bank balance they were miles too small! xxx

    1. Thanks, Mica - I actually felt the belt was a little too big. I loved the skirt, though!

  3. I love the skirt. Teddy bear seems to be the thing to wear this season - I've always associated it with deepest/coldest winter, but the texture is so invitingly soft.

  10. That skirt looks amazing when worn, I have to admit i had second thoughts when I just saw it on your previous post.
When worn it becomes alive - this is such a great combo - and that belt. I think I have "feelings" for it.
