Over the Moon, and Monochrome Green

A big thanks to our friend Linda for letting me know that the photobooth pictures were finally posted from the Vintage Expo a couple of weeks ago! Link here, and kudos to Lauren Keif Photography for these great shots!
We let her pose us however she wanted. What a shiny couple we are!

Today's outfit is not very shiny, and in fact, it's very green.
I am fond of nearly every shade of green. This outfit was built around this new-to-me sweater which I thrifted over the summer.

  • Silk/wool tweed suit - Precis Petites; last worn as a suit here for Hallowe'en 2012 (you need to see it!); last worn as just the skirt here in November 2017 and just the jacket here (with the faux fur collar attached) in November 2017
  • Sweater - Lacoste, thrifted; purchased here for $6.95 (you read that right!)
  • Shoes - Wonders Ayers, Fluevog; last seen here in February 2018

This sweater was a delight to wear - such soft merino wool.
The skirt is a longer cut, with three box-pleats in the back to give it room for walking.

It is very pretty in motion, a real "wiggle skirt" shape.
I bought this suit as part of my "I need to replace my wardrobe" when I first lost weight, before I started this blog in 2008. It's from 2007 and I bought it new at the Bay (now the Hudson's Bay).

Monochrome suit!
I think the jacket was around $129.00, the skirt was around $79 and the pants (now long-gone - they were too short) were also around $79. It's one of the oldest pieces in my wardrobe. I first wore the skirt on the blog here in June 2008; it's the piece I wear the most.

I only wore the jacket for walking to and from work.
Adding a green cotton velvet scarf and taupe leather gloves. I left the scarf at work by accident - d'oh! - so I was a little chilled in the neck region on the way home.

  • Scarf - Dolce & Gabbana, thrifted
  • Gloves - Danier Leather

The stuff:
I actually debated getting rid of these shoes, but I'm so glad I didn't. They were wonderfully comfy to wear - that's a great heel height for me - and now that I'm grooving on all this green, they're going to be worn more. At least, that is the plan.

POLY bling:
I have quite the collection of POLY pieces now. Must wear them all!

  • Chain necklace - POLY, thrifted
  • Pendant - POLY, thrifted
  • Bracelets - all POLY, all thrifted
  • Ring - POLY, vintage expo
  • Crystal ring - Uffizi Gallery gift shop, Florence, Italy
  • Hematite earrings - gift from Mom

Every one of them is thrifted, except for the ring (which started it all), but all at different times and different stores.

One more kiss for the road.
I'm over the moon for you, my love!

  3. I love the photo of you and L looking so starry eyed. It is fun to have someone else pose you.
That green suit is just as on point today than when you bought it so long ago. Beautiful things never go out of style. I love the green shades in this outfit. There is a lovely yellow hue to both and I am fond of it !
I like the outfit best without the jacket though. I hope you’re having a wonderful week my friend.

    1. It is! I agree on the suit - it really has been a very good investment. Great catch - both the suit and the sweater have a yellow tone to them! I like the jacket with it, but I like a different top and the jacket belted when I wear it like that.
