Oct 26th - Outfit #26 - Mustard Snowflake

Happy Friday! Man, these 5 day weeks are lame. I need a long weekend.
I enjoyed this mostly neutral outfit - the pop of mustard at my face a nice accent.

The bottom half of this outfit, the shoes and the snowflake skirt were last seen here while I was dying from a hangover and shopping with Zoe for her birthday last weekend. Scroll down past the debauchery.

The top half is my black wool sweater (last worn here before the debauchery started), and my mustard ruffly shirt (last seen here with my nice tweed jacket).
This shirt has once again proven to be a food magnet! Arg. Good thing it's washable.

The stuff:
A mix of vintage and new.

Sweater (Jacob, consignment), blouse (Gap, thrifted), skirt (J.J.F, consignment), shoes (Marc Softwalk, thrifted), bracelet (Trifari, vintage 50s, Grandma J's), pin (gift from Lynne), floral ring (Sarah Coventry, vintage), spinner ring (Twang & Pearl).

We have a pretty sedate weekend planned, well-needed after last weekend. Ah...

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

  1. You are wearing the chameleon pin! It looks so lovely on that sweater. I think about that mustard top all the time when I go thrifting, hoping to find something similar. I just love the perfect ruffle cascade in front.

You made me laugh with your comment at my post about butt wrinkles. I didn't ever photograph the backside of that dress today :P

  2. Everyone is saying neutrals are the next trend. I don't know if I'm ready to give up colors, and your splash of color at the collar is just right. I love that look of black and white with an accent color, and mustard is a nice change from the predictable red. Lovely!

    1. Ooh, then I'll be right on trend for November (not that I care about following the trends)! I love lots of colour, but I do like neutrals as well. Yes, red gets boring as an accent!

  6. Sheila.....are my eyes failing me? Is the skirt a Toile print or is it wishful thinking on my part?

    1. Hi, Lisa, sorry, no, it's not toile - it's a very abstract print, pretty random design.

I am also planning a quiet one, although i may pop out for thermal leggings (!), it has gone so cold this week.

  8. I think the shape of that skirt is universally flattering. I'm loving your whole outfit and I've been looking for a mustard top or blouse. They don't show up much in the plus size areas I've been in. The outfit looks wonderful with your coloring.

I'm planning a relaxed weekend, too many late nights lately.

  13. I love the subtle funkiness of this outfit... the shoes are killer, the skirt classic but with a great pattern, and I love the neckline of your mustard top!
