It was so dark this morning that I had to take my stair picture after work. Good thing I had a toque on - the rain was coming down pretty hard when I was walking home. I hate hat head.
I wanted to wear this pretty rust top again (last seen here with Secret Octopi). I liked how it contrasted with the navy blue velvet blazer (last worn here with my plaid dress) and how the tweed skirt (last seen here with tonal tans and mustard) played off the sparkly neckline.I wasn't super enamoured with the red loafers. I think it's the high vamp on them contrasted with the lighter fishnets.
Vizzini seems to like them. |
I got a lovely surprise in the mail today! It was a sweet little birthday gift and funny card from the gorgeous Lynne of Practical Paralegalism. Look at the lovely (albeit slightly blurry) lizard!
He's enamel and crystal and I would guess is from the late 80s. Thank you so much, Lynne! That's so sweet of you.
Keeping this short and sweet today - I'm totally behind on everyone's blogs due to my riotous weekend!
Jacket (Armor Jeans, thrifted), top (Spenser James, from Kara), skirt (Julius, vintage, thrifted), shoes (Hilary Radley, thrifted), leaf pin (Grandma W's), cuff (vintage 60s, Mom's), spinner ring (Twang & Pearl), floral ring (Sarah Coventry, 70s), gold/blue ring (Louvre Museum Gift Shop), lizard pin (gift from Lynne).
The shoes look marvelous in my opinion, but I know many people don't like higher vamped shoes will 'bare' legs.
ReplyDeleteHooray for lizard! Lynne is the best at finding nifty jewelry.
Vizzini is trying to edge in on your blog, Sheila. Be careful he may take it over!
It rained here too, Sheila...all the way in the midwest...in Indiana.
ReplyDeleteI think you look so Mad Men today. I love the style on that show, by the way.
Taking cat photos is a challenge...
ReplyDeletemany of mine are blurry.
You do manage to take great fashion photos.
I am struggling with mine.
Hope you are keeping dry in all this liquid sunshine!
lovely skirt and accessory!

Sarah Coventry! Now there's a memory from my tween years.
ReplyDeleteI see what you mean about the high vamp, but I still think they look great; they're gorgeous shoes. The outfit I've got planned for today is very much like this one, at least from the hips down. If the postman would just get here, I'd be able to get dressed and photograph it...
Beautiful outfit! :) I really like the top and blazer together, the contrast is really nice like you said.
ReplyDeletegorgeous birthday bling from Lynne!!
ReplyDeleteI love rust and navy as a color combo--this outfit is stunning!
Vizzini has certainly turned into a camera ham!!
The lizard is fab - Lynne is such a sweetie! I love a tweed fitted skirt - so classic. You look terrific, as per always.
ReplyDeleteWe're finally getting some much needed rain here today. I'm not complaining even a little bit!
ReplyDeleteI love the combination of the skirt, shirt and blazer, it's so classic and professional, yet very stylish! And I like the shoes, but that's just me.
Tee hee Vizzini. You are too cute.
So pretty love all the fall colors!! ~Love Heather
ReplyDeleteI like the picture wit the cat - it has something witchy i it.

Vizzini has mastered teleporting, cool!Fantastic tweed skirt, and Lizard-From-Lovely-Lynne is perfect against blue velvet. I'm behind on everyone's blogs too, but a solid stretch of catch-up is the best! Thanks so much for visiting and commenting over by me. :)
ReplyDeleteP.S. that totally awesome spinner ring is tempting me to fiddle with it from here.
Great bling! Lynne has such a great eye. I had lizard earrings very similar in the 80's.
