Feb 9th - Outfit #8 - Orange and Purple and Fringe

Doing this challenge is going to be a real learning experience. I have the feeling that I haven't got enough clothes - it makes me feel a little anxious - and that I'm going to run out of outfits! I also feel like I should have picked more neutrals, but then I remember that I like bright colours together.
This ensemble turned out better than I expected, surprisingly. I was pretty leery of the orange and purple going together, and for some reason I put two pairs of caramel-coloured shoes in my capsule. I would like to think that the leopard tights pulled it all together. Is that wishful thinking?

New item alert! This is the first appearance of my orange cardigan.
But not the purple skirt, which I wore here for February's Outfit #1. I had a wider purple belt (yes, I have more than one purple belt), but it didn't look right, so I swapped it out for the skinny one.

It's also the first appearance of these killer booties:
They are fringed suede, and based on the slightly squared toe and the position of the heel, I'd say they are from 2001-2002. Here's a size 7 on eBay.

Check 'em out:
I found these in the same thrift store as yesterday's black leather shirt, when I was shopping with Lorinda. They're just a cheapy Payless brand, but eee! Fringe! And I like that they are tight at the ankle, and hit at a good spot on the leg.

They didn't have a price on them, so I asked one of the ladies at the store. She came back with this price tag:
"Is that all right?" she asked.

"I'll take them," I said.

Cardigan (Kersh), cami (Esprit), skirt (Plum), tights (Le Chateau), boots (Predictions Leather Collection, thrifted), belt and earrings (Plum).

  1. Ohmygoodness, I LOVE this. I want to wear my orange stuff with purple now. I think the tights and more importantly the boots off set the bold color combination. I'm sure the challenge seems daunting, but I bet you'll wear unexpected outfits you might not have ever pulled together if not for your self-limit.

Good deal on the boots (they're real leather, yeah?).
