Happy Friday! It's been a busy week, so I am looking forward to some rest and relaxation this weekend - and aside from our Super Bowl party on Sunday, it's going to be nice and quiet. Ahhhh...
Today's outfit features four more items from my 30 For 30 for this month:
And it was light enough for a stair picture this morning! |
The painty blouse is one I haven't worn very much (last here). And I had to have a denim bottom, so these cropped jeans are it.
I've only worn these flat shoes once - they were awesome today, although my feet were a little cold!
The stuff:
Flowers, flowers! I felt very spring-y in this; on the way home I spotted a plum tree that is trying to bloom! It won't be long - I love the early blossoms in Victoria.
Have a great weekend!
Jacket (French Connection, thrifted), blouse (The Limited, thrifted), jeans (Jackpot, swap from Caro), shoes (I [heart] Billy), zipper rose pin (Victoria & Albert Museum gift shop).
Love the shoes. The neckline on that jacket is very cool.
ReplyDeleteI have flats (er, sandals) in a similar style that I also wear year round, but mine don't have a lovely red flower. Did you add those or are they part of the shoe?
ReplyDeleteI am trying very hard to change my opinion on red (I always thought it didn't work on me), so I'm glad you're doing red as a neutral! I'll learn a lot from you!
ReplyDeleteTerri, they came as part of the shoe, but you could easily glue or clip on something similar.
ReplyDeleteLove that top, and how it works with the red jacket :)

Hi Sheila!
ReplyDeleteWhere did you vet those shoes?
I am so in love with them!
The jacket and shoes make the outfit, wonderful!
Have a good weekend

Terri (and Sheila): There's a company called ShoeClips.biz that sells clips (including flowers) to attach to shoes. A friend gave me some.
ReplyDeleteI love your zipper flower pin, Sheila. It has great design.
Enjoy your party!
Ariane, they're a brand called I [heart symbol] Billy that I've never heard of before. They were purchased at a store called She She Shoes here in Victoria - they were the last pair.
ReplyDeleteAlly, thanks! I used to have shoe clips back in the 80s!
What a great weekend look, Sheila. You've inspired me to step it up a little today! Love those shoes to pieces : >
ReplyDeleteThe collar on that jacket is great. I'm so excited to see so much spring going on around here!! Enjoy today's sunny day and your party tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI'm also in the "red as a neutral" camp. I have more trouble wearing navy as a neutral than red. Any suggestions? Also, for me, mustard has turned out to be almost as versatile as red. I tried a mustard T because of reading Kashmira's blog and found that it livened up my whole wardrobe. Now I buy the color whenever I see it.
ReplyDeleteHey, Lorinda! Same here - what an awesome weekend! It feels like spring. The party is actually next week, but thanks! I'm going to break out my "Wildcard" for a dress I got on consignment a few weeks back.
ReplyDeleteFG, navy is a tough one for me - I don't have a lot of it (not a lot of blue in general actually). It feels too staid for me most of the time. I totally agree on mustard - I just picked up a lovely mustard tee today!
love the outfit!! The jacket is darling and those shoes are the BOMB!!! I love how the shoes pick up the red of the jacket!
ReplyDeleteOMG, love, love, love that outfit. I remember the painter top and all the lovely colors with it, and pairing it with that cropped red jacket with the cute neckline was perfect. Then the cropped jeans and the cute flats with the strap...everything is just perfect!
ReplyDeleteI am loving this flowery summery outfit - i know you are not much of a trouser gal but these look super on you - the ankle fit is just perfect.
