Flouncy Friday in Caramel and Green

Happy Friday, Gentle Readers! Just a quick post to show you my Flouncy Friday outfit.
Did you guess it would be flouncy? It is!

  • Cashmere sweater - Prada, consignment; last worn here (2nd outfit) in May for a chicks' movie night
  • Skirt - See By Chloe, consignment; last seen here in June 2022 with my orange blazer
  • Sneakers - Steve Madden, thrifted; last worn here (2nd outfit) with this sweater in May

Nothing new here or even new-to-me - just playing with things in my closet.
I wanted to wear this skirt...so what shoes?

And then what top?
And then jewelry.

It's not that tricky, especially considering the volume of clothes I have.
I don't have to stick to a colour palette, although I get the allure.

Incognito.
I've decided I don't like this scarf anymore, so off the giveaway pile it goes! I only paid $1.95 or less for it, so eh, no loss.

  • Scarf - thrifted

The stuff:
I am on the lookout for more funky sneaker-style runners - this is a big wish, as they aren't that common in second-hand stores.

Brassy bling:
I was thrilled to wear my 70s Raphael set again. I love the "eye" necklace.

  • Brass/glass necklace/ring - Rafael, vintage 70s, consignment, gift from L
  • Chunky bracelet - J. Crew, consignment
  • Chain/leather bracelet - thrifted
  • Bronze Brutalist ring - vintage 70s, vintage mall
  • Earrings - vintage mall

I popped into Rich Rags for a browse after work and found this divine wool cropped jacket in the Sale section.
I love the shawl collar, the blouson-style body and sleeves.

That's a box-pleat in the back.
The waistband sits at the top of the hips, and dips down in the back. I'll wear this once the weather gets cooler - September? October?

I was amused by the brand, Pims. I know that's a drink!
I couldn't find anything about this brand - although there's a UK boutique by this name that's been around since 1972? Have you ever heard of this brand before? I suspect that it's from the 1980s or early 90s - it's had "surgery" to remove shoulder-pads. I paid $30 for this vintage beauty!

Wishing you all a very happy weekend, full of good weather, good times and good friends! I'll be back on Sunday with tales of adventure - please do stop by!

  1. I can understand your wish for more funky sneakers. Yours are very pretty! And I love that cropped jacket. There is ringing a bell in the very back of my head by the brand, but I can't lay my finger on it.

    1. I'm slow to this bandwagon (and I'm sure sneakers will no longer be in vogue by the time I'm fully into them!), Nancy. Thank you so much. If you recall Pim's, let me know!

  2. Fabulous and flouncy Friday outfit, Sheila! I love absolutely everything about it, but my eyes immediately zoomed in to the ... eye necklace. What a stunner! Oh, and I would wear those funky runners in a heartbeat!
I can't wait to see you wear that cropped jacket, even if the label doesn't ring a bell with me.
Have a fabulous weekend, my dear. It'll be all work for me at tomorrow's flea market stall. xxx

    1. Thank you, Ann! Isn't the necklace amazing? I hope I can find more Raphael at some point. The runners have been a good buy, that's for sure!

I will have to wait for cooler weather - we're not exactly ready for wool coats yet!

Good luck - I hope your stall went well!

  3. The sneakers and the blazer look like they'd be a perfect pairing at some point, definitely due to their colors. In any case, I am a fan of cropped blazers and look forward to seeing the many ways you style it.

I'm curious to know what it is about the scarf that no longer appeals to you. From where I sit (3,000 miles east, sitting in my living room and viewing on an iPad) the colors mesh with your top and there is visual interest with the pattern and fringe.

It's Sunday morning and I am certain you are having a delightful weekend! 'See you' tomorrow!
    Cheers, Laurie

    1. I am not sure about the sneakers/jacket together, but they do "go" as far as coordinating, so we'll see. I'm excited to wear the jacket, but not until it cools off here.

The scarf isn't great fabric - it is covered in little snags everywhere. I like the colours, but it's not one I reach for...and considering I have over 50 scarves, they all have to pull their weight or they don't last with me.

Hope your weekend was full of sunshine (literal and metaphorical).

  4. That skirt is floatily delicious and I really like it with the mustard top.
That cropped jacket is really unusual- can't wait to see you wear it!x

    1. Do you see mustard, Kezzie? The cashmere sweater is actually a warm caramel brown. Thanks so much! I'm excited about the jacket, but it's too warm to wear right now.

  5. h yes, I do like a flouncy skirt - or a flouncy anything, really!
I'm not familiar with the label Pims but am over familiar with the Pimms drink, I overdid it in the 1980s and have avoided it ever since!

    1. I'm not always about the flouncy, but I love this skirt. Lol, I've tried Pimms - not to my taste.
