Bold Stripes, Chartreuse Accents and Kenzo Floral

I'm at the point in my spring-summer season where I start digging into my closet and getting at the pieces I haven't worn yet. I always enjoy this last 2 months, as it's when I revisit old favourites.
This Kenzo Jungle jacket has been in my closet for 6 years, and this is the eighth time I've worn it.

  • Jacket - Kenzo Jungle, vintage 90s, thrifted; last worn here in June 2022 with Boss Pants
  • Blouse - Kate Spade, thrifted; last seen here (and Flashbacked) here in August 2022 with wonderful brights
  • Skirt - Tibi, consignment; last worn here in February with my Gram's pink sweater
  • Sandals - Eject, Vancouver; last seen here (3rd outfit) in May for brunch

The boldly striped skirt is a fairly recent acquisition, not even two years old. This is its fourth outfit.
It's a lovely thick knit, very stretchy and comfortable.

I love how the bold stripes contrast with the more delicate floral.
The jacket is probably close to 30 years old - it's beautifully made (in France, so classy).

I spent part of the day without the jacket on (I get heated taking the stairs).
And I liked how this version of the outfit stood on its own.

I was determined to destroy this poor silk chartreuse blouse today. I got grease from a pot on it, and lipstick on the neckline.
It all came off with Folex, like magic. I'll be sad when this blouse dies.

Incognito.
This outfit felt very "me."

The stuff:
These are very stable shoes, and are only a 1-inch heel after Shoe Math. Shockingly comfortable.

Glitzy bling:
More chartreuse accents.

  • Green crystal bracelet - vintage 60s, Mom's
  • Green crystal brooch/earrings - vintage 60s, Gram's
  • Blue crystal bracelet - Swarovski, consignment, gift from L
  • Green crystal cocktail ring - vintage 70s, Mom's
  • Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes

  1. I had a skirt like that but shorter and didn't like the lenght. Wished it was the lenght of your skirt. What is it about stripes? I think Theo always look great, modern and cool. Fabulous shoes too!

  2. You are on an outfit making roll! Each piece is sweet on its own and together they pack a sartorial punch. The skirt is fabulous and I quite appreciate the flattering drape and length. The blouse and shoes are talking to each other :) and the JACKET speaks for itself! This outfit, complete with jewelry, conjures refreshing summer days (which is NOT what we are seeing in my neck of NY.)

    Cheers,
    Laurie

    1. Oh, thank you, Laurie! I am often challenged with not having enough energy to put in all the effort, but it's always worth it. I love getting a wearing in of this jacket - it just oozes quality.

  3. The stripes and florals make for a striking combination, and I'm loving the pops of chartreuse. What a relief the Folex worked its magic on the blouse ... that grease would have had me very worried indeed. I wonder if there's a Folex equivalent here in Belgium, must investigate! xxx

  4. What a fantastic combination. I've never heard of Folex, I need to see if the Uk does something similar! xxx
