And...back to the real reason we're all here - the clothes!
We woke up to a swelteringly hot forecast, which tipped out around 27 degrees today. What's a gal to do?
Wear a dress! This one has a pattern that looks like coffee rings to me. That's one messy surface, or one drippy mug.
It really doesn't need anything else, but of course, I always pile on the accessories.
It's silk organza with modal lining - I also wore a nylon vintage slip under it.

I was baking in the heat on the way home, but the slip kept the dress dry.
The skirt wrinkled up a bit from my office chair, but otherwise, I really liked it.

I added a tissue-thin linen cardigan for arm coverage from the sun.
I wore it off and on all day - my office's AC runs cold.

The stuff:
I'm getting closer to being able to wear pointier toes again, but am being cautious with my shoe choices until then.

Love the coffee rings dress! It’s hot down here in Corvallis too. Makes it harder to fully embrace creative dressing!
ReplyDeleteTell me about it! I just want to wear big caftans all day!
DeleteThe coffee rings dress looks perfect for a heatwave. We've returned from similar temperatures in Prague to a measly 17 degrees (it feels colder!)
ReplyDeleteIt was wonderful to wear. 17 sounds positively Arctic, lol!
DeleteHooray for wearing the new-to-you dress right away. Again, a perfect outfit, complete with perfect accessories: comfort, color, pizazz, and coffee rings. ;-) By the way, I meant to say how much your weekend purchase of the red flats appeals. The heel height and color appear just right; I'll be interested to see how utilize them and what you think of walking in them.
ReplyDeleteYup, it just felt right, Laurie. I am looking forward to wearing the red flats as well - just gotta put an outfit together with them!
DeleteOops, but you likely already know this comment was from me! Cheers, Laurie
ReplyDeleteWhat a perfect Summer dress your coffee rings patterned one is! I'd lock it away before I come all the way over to Victoria to steal it! That white enamel set is to die for as well. Hearing you on the on/off game with the cardigan. Not a fan of AC but sometimes needs must. We're down to about 18°C today, but high twenties/low thirties expected for the weekend. Eek! xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Ann! Back off, sister! Ha! High 20s over here - trying not to shiver in the AC, knowing I'll be melting the moment I step outside.
DeletePerfect hot weather dress. Shoes are great (think I have a similar but not as nice pair). Try to stay cool and enjoy Instagram. I'm @goodymcgoodface. Don't post there that often, but yeah 21st century and all :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Goody!!
DeleteI really like this dress on you and I like that cardigan with it! :) I hope it does not get too much hotter for you - that is very hot for you indeed! Although I can't help thinking I wouldn't mind some of that warmth as it's winter here, haha!
ReplyDeleteCoffee ring stains never looked so good! xxx
