A Neglected Neut Suit and a Farewell Leopard Flashback

I was shocked when I looked up the "last worn" iteration of this suit - over a year ago?! 

I'm so sorry, neglected suit! I do love you, I promise. 

• Suit - Part Two; last seen here way back in April 2022 with a red bodysuit
• Top - Karl Lagerfeld, thrifted; last worn here in March 2022 with pink Boss Pants
• Shoes - Matisse, Sidney; last seen here in June with mustard ruffles

Although I have a passionate love for colour, I'm also a fan of black and white prints, and I've been known to wear a neutral or two. 

So we can call this a "neut suit", yes? Har har, that's a knee-slapper. 

The suit is made of very slinky polyester, so it's very flowy and swooshy to wear. 

I nearly always wear it buttoned. 

The trousers are high-waisted, but short and cuffed. 

I've worn this top with the blazer before - which you'll see shortly! - but never with both pieces of suiting (as we called it in my retail days). 

I took the jacket off when I got overheated. 

Three different neutral prints in one outfit! I deserve a medal - that's high-level stuff.

Flashback: Karl Lagerfeld Leopard Blouse

I picked up this cute blouse while introducing a work colleague to the joys of thrift shopping at WIN (Women In Need) on Pandora Ave., way back here in July 2018. As often happens when I'm shopping with someone else, things just leap off the rack at me! 

It's a lovely silky polyester, in a perfect leopard print. 

How did I live without a leopard sleeveless top before? 

This one was $7.50 (half off with the butterfly punch) - not bad for a Karl Lagerfeld blouse that would have retailed around $79.00 new. 

I wore it right away on a hot day in July 2018. Not a very creative outfit, but I do like the leopard with that shade of hot pink. 

I let go of the shoes (too tight) some time ago. I have a feeling I passed the skirt along too. 

In September 2019, I went to the last big Vintage Expo at the Crystal Gardens (I got my gold mesh snake necklace there, sold as a belt for $20!). 

I just wore that Smoking Lily jacket the other day, but the gold leather (yes, leather!) pants are on hold until I can get back in to them. I gave away the gold glitter shoes. 

I love this mixed outfit from May 2019 - recognize the suit jacket? And the shoes? 

And there are those wonderful gold leather pants again. Must get back into them! 

I did a Flashback (here) on this ancient-for-me green tweed suit when I last wore it in February 2021. 

I have a sentimental attachment to it, so it's archived - it's not really "me" anymore, but maybe one day I'll decide to drag it out again! 

I wore this funky outfit for Book Club in May 2021 - I still have all the parts! 

Yes, I do believe my hair is faintly blue there - I played with the colour a lot over the past 5 years! 

And here's the last time I wore this wee blouse, way back in March 2022. 

Those shoes are recently gone (Toe does not like that shape), and I'm due to wear my Boss Pants again soon. 

Mathy stuff: I paid $7.50 for it and I've worn this top 7 times, so that's $1.07 per wear. Excellent! 

And yes, I am getting rid of the blouse - it is quite snagged down the front, with loads of wispy threads which have wrecked the pattern in places. It's not like leopard tops are rare in the thrift stores, so I'll have "leopard layering top" on my mental shopping list until I find a good one.
