Puffy Green, Chartreuse Leather and Cat Pictures

Back to the real world today - and back to work! That vacation was just what I needed, and I felt chill for a few hours, and then it felt like no time had passed.
I picked an easy outfit for my first day in the office - green is a good colour for feeling chill.

  • Blouse - Free People, consignment; purchased here for $29.99
  • Skirt - Firenze Santa Barbara, vintage 80s, thrifted; last worn here in July 2022 with a different puffy green blouse
  • Shoes - Fast Cars Mille Miglia, Fluevog; last seen here in May with a big swooshy skirt

I liked the new-to-me blouse - those puffy sleeves! such DRAMA! - but it does completely erase my shape in pictures.
I tried to ameliorate the blob-iness of the middle with a necklace. Good enough!

It's a keeper for now, as is this lovely chartreuse leather skirt.
I adore the colour, which is pearlized. Classy!

Oops, didn't line my seams up before I took the pic! Klassy.
I wore a lemon yellow cami under the top to hide my bra strap.

Incognito.
More yellow!

  • Silk scarf - Vera, vintage, thrifted; purchased here for $3.95

The stuff:
These were too much for my first day back for my poor feet. I changed back into my walking shoes in the afternoon.

Green bling:
My green set, collected over the years.

  • Necklace - vintage 70s, Mom's
  • Enamel bangles - thrifted
  • Glass bangle - thrifted
  • Silver/malachite bangle - thrifted
  • Coral/olivine ring - Hawaiian, vintage 1977, Mom's
  • Silver/aventurine ring - consignment
  • Silver/malachite ring - consignment
  • Earrings - Stella & Dot, consignment, Vancouver

Lest you think that Vizzini has been hiding, far from it.
"I'm watching you."

In addition to snoozing on the deck, he joins us for board games.
"Oh, are you still playing?"

He likes to hang out with us and sometimes settles in for a while. Or he stands there in the way, hoping we will get up and give him his treats.
"Or perhaps you should lay back on the couch."

This routine is repeated a couple of times a game.

He often finds himself a sightline to stare daggers at us.
"IT'S KITTY CHIP TIME."

But he really does love us.
"Sometimes."

A lot of face-rubbing and cuddles and hugs.
"Get in on this, Woman."

I usually hug both L and Vizzini, which causes much drooling (from Vizz, not L!).

We try not to get too annoyed at him.
"I think I'll just stand right here."

And remind ourselves that time is short with our furry friends.
"Right now is perfect."

There is nothing better in the world than napping in the sun!

  3. Lovely outfit, Sheila, with all the greens and yellows so well harmonised. Loved all the bling and the scarf is fab. Did you know I'm called 'Vera' by my birth and extended family and Hilary?

I'm sure Vizzini knows exactly what he's doing when you're playing board games but as he's so cute how can you not forgive him? Such a character!

    1. So very kind, thank you, Vronni, or should I say Vera! I had no idea!

He really is - we just can't say no, just gently push him away.

  6. Love the green bling, but the "blingiest" (is there such a word?) green has to be Vizzini's eyes staring at you from behind the sofa! x

  7. I like the green and yellow together! It's a combination I don't wear nearly enough, but always like when I do. I think that is a beautiful blouse on you as well, the statement sleeves are awesome! With it being winter here I've had my puff sleeve blouses out again for the office, they are a nice alternative to a plain long sleeve!

Thanks for joining the Weekday Wear Link Up :)
