Weekend Wrap-Up: Black and Tan Vet Armour

Welcome back, gentle readers! It's been a quiet weekend on my side - I hope yours has treated you well.

We took Vizzini to the vet on Saturday for his blood pressure check-up and bloodwork. From what we could tell he's stable (weight is within a kilogram or two, blood pressure was steady), and we should hear about his bloodwork soon. A wee kitty with stage 3 kidney disease is on a ticking clock, so we spent most of the weekend just chilling out and enjoying his company.
What to wear to the vet? This isn't very colourful, aside from the tan of the skirt, but I was in full Armour Up mode.

  • Jacket - Kelsey T upcycle, consignment; purchased here for $88.00
  • T-shirt - Adidas Farm Rio collection, thrifted; purchased here for $19.99
  • Skirt - Alberta Ferretti, last seen here in June 2022 with 90s silk
  • Boots - Original Sabado, Fluevog; last worn here (2nd outfit) in May to see Jean in Roller Derby

It was a really windy weekend overall.
Seagulls soaring over the castle.

After we returned our cranky feline home after his traumatic visit, L and I rewarded ourselves with a quick trip to town.
He did a wee CD shop at Ditch Records, and I perused Russell Books for my next Book Club pick (found! can't share 'cause my gals sometimes read my blog). I also bought myself a bunch of second-hand books.

We grabbed a quick taco lunch at La Taquisa, then grocery shopped.
I liked how the panels in the back of the skirt and jacket matched.

My mesh-over-tee top was fine, although wasn't seen due to the slightly chilly day.
A shout-out to Vix for identifying this tee as being from Adidas' Farm Rio collection - thank you!

Isn't the skirt cool? I am not usually drawn to this tan colour, but the detail and quality sold me.
Alberta Ferretti is pretty classy! It also has giant pockets, as you can see in the pic further up.

Out and about (I'm not Incognito in stores, that would be odd).
My scarf hid the tee entirely. No Weird Adidas here!

Accoutrements:
Another new-to-me item - the silk scarf, which was amazing. It's that spider-webby soft silk, like nothing on the skin. Very good quality.

  • Purse - Rebecca Minkoff, consignment
  • Silk scarf - Janie Besner, consignment; purchased here for $16.00

I used the red/orange in the scarf to pick up the red in the tee, leather cuff and my red lipstick.

The stuff:
I'm vowing to only wear shoes that don't hurt my toes this week. I must have broken my toe when I smushed it a week+ ago, as it's still swollen and very sore. I've taped it up and given it (and myself) a stern talking-to.

Shiny bling:
Mixing my metals.

  • Leather/steel cuff - Rimanchik
  • Gold bangle - thrifted
  • Bird brooch - thrifted
  • Gold hoops - 5th anniversary gift from L
  • Silver/enamel ring - antique store, Sidney
  • Silver chain ring - Mexican, consignment

Vizzini quickly forgave us for making him go to the vet, and snuggled and hung out with us all afternoon and evening. I woke up on Sunday and found him snoozing in his snazzy leopard house.
"I'm making the rounds of my secret spots."

I hope you know that these vet trips are for your own good, buddy.
"It's okay. I forgive you."

Thanks, little guy. Those are some lush whiskers you have going on!

And thank YOU, my friends, for visiting, commenting and otherwise being there.

  1. Haha, Vizzini had a traumatic trip and you treated yourself? You should have treated him, lol. I'll bet you did.....

    1. It is - we know he has 6 months to 3 years...and it's been nearly a year.

Hello, and thank you, Louise! My glasses are by Theo.

  4. Poor old Vizzini. But he looks quite recovered and chilling in his leopard house...

Love the outfit; those boots are amazing and I think the birds brooch is so sweet. Sorry to hear about your toe - sounds very painful! Hope you found some great reads.

    Have a great week,
    xxx

    1. He's only 12, not that old, but he does seem like an old man now, doesn't he?

Thank you, Vronni! I've got to be better to my feet...

  5. I'm sure Vizzini was glad to have it all over with and forgot about being mad at you.

  6. Oh just look at Vizzini's face! I'm sure all is forgiven now. I bet the vet doesn't see many people dressed quite so stylishly as you. The standard dress code seems to be jeans and a baggy t-shirt. ;-D

    1. I'm (mostly) forgiven - he's leery of me grabbing at him, as I'm the one who wrangles him into his carry-cage. Jeans and tees are the general uniform here too - I don't look like most people, lol (neither does L).

  9. Vizzini looks very wise in his leopard pod, bless him.
That's another amazing outfit, your jacket is so cool and I'm glad to be of service with the Adidas info. I'm mentioned her in my blog before but check out the beautiful Sarah Jane Adams - she's a master at wearing Adidas with vintage/Indian block prints! xxx
