Monday in Feathers and Spots of Pink

The lovely warm spring we've been enjoyinghas fled this week, leaving us with grey skies. June-uary, indeed!
This slinky viscose dress is patterned with feathers, like a snowy owl's.

  • Dress - All Saints, consignment; purchased here for $58.00
  • Shoes - Seychelles, consignment; first seen here in May with my Pea Dress
  • Coat (below) - Only, consignment; last worn here in April

It's a good Monday dress - add a belt and shoes and I'm good to go.
The dress is scandalously generously slitted - front, back and sides.

I have a full black vintage slip underneath, which I was very glad of when the wind decided to lift my dress up past my knees.
I might have to wear it opened up with some really swooshy trousers...it actually hangs best with no belt at all.

It's one of those dresses that also wants to blouse out over the belt - I was constantly pulling it back down.
But I did like it overall. I have lots of shoe-belt combos I can do with this!

Incognito.
I am outraged that I had to wear a COAT today.

Even worse, I actually had to zip it!
Brrr, it was even trying to rain on my walk home. Bring back my sunshine!

The stuff:
I longed for pointy-toed matching fuchsia shoes (these ones), but these were the best I could do. Toe was happy.

  • Silk scarf - vintage, thrifted.

Oops, forgot my belt. It and my lipstick were my spots of pink today.
I didn't like the skinny, stringy belt the dress came with. Give me a good leather belt any day.

  • Belt - vintage 80s, thrifted

Silver bling:
Round shapes to match the feathers.

  • Belt - vintage 80s, thrifted
  • Silver earrings - Israeli, consignment
  • Silver hinged cuff - vintage, thrifted, Powell River
  • Steel cuff - thrifted
  • Silver balls ring - Sidney
  • Silver/amethyst ring - vintage mall

How was your Monday?

    1. Thank you, Claire! I plan to illustrate the jacket at some point. I would welcome rain - we're going to have a very dry summer, and that means a high risk of forest fires and low water. Yikes.

    1. Thanks, Kezzie! I also really like little athletic shorts that come down past the upper thigh.

  4. That is a beautiful dress and the slip under it is a great idea. I really like the pink and red with it as well, although I hope the weather improves for you so you can go coat-free!
