Flouncy Friday: Back-To-Me Pouf, Studded Blue and Lemon Docs

Happy Friday, my friends! July 1st is Canada's birthday (she is 155 years young), so we have a long weekend, and I am signing off with...a pouf.
I took this awesome skirt back from Vero at last weekend's Winesday, and here it is. Must make sure I really want it!

  • Jacket - Dolce & Gabbana, thrifted; last worn here with picnic plaid in May
  • Top - Renoma Sports, vintage 90s, vintage collective; first seen here in May under an Emoji dress
  • Skirt - All Saints, gift from Dominique; reacquired last weekend here, last worn here in March with yellow leather
  • Boots - Doc Martens; purchased here for $159.99

I'll be wearing it again soon, as I was not satisfied with this ensemble. This skirt deserves a better outfit, and for me, it comes down to lack of tights.
Please pretend I have sheer grey tights on for these pics, and we'll all be a lot happier. Deal?

I felt a little too bare on the bottom - also, my legs are covered in red blotches from all the mosquito bites I got on my legs on Saturday at Winesday.
I wore my long black shorts under this, for which I was eternally grateful when the wind gusts chose to play "Let's show your undercrackers" with me. I should have worn one of my black floofy underskirts for some extra length - that would have helped too.

I was periodically warm with the jacket but this top is a mite sheer for the office. I took it off anyway.
It was pretty dead in the office on the day before a long weekend. Not a shocker!

Incognito. I loved how the scarf tied it all together.
It smacked me in the face and snagged on my travel mug. Stupid wind.

Accoutrements:
The appearance of a purse on a workday means I walked to and from work in my new lemon Doc Martens.

  • Purse - Zara, consignment
  • Scarf - Vera, vintage 70s, thrifted

The stuff:
They were fantastic, very cushy (I wore socks). I do need to get some inserts for them as I do for all Docs, but these are going to be worn a lot. By the way, the soles did NOT mark the yellow leather - hooray!

Silver bling:
I lied - only the rings are silver.

  • Crystal heart bracelet - Juicy Couture, consignment
  • Steel cuff - thrifted
  • Ball earrings - thrifted
  • Lapis lazuli ring - Wendy Brandes
  • Silver/kyanite ring - consignment
  • Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes

I found Vizzini in his Leopard Pod (perfect name, Vix!) this morning, not very happy to see me.
"Nap time. Leave, Woman."

I can tell when I'm not wanted - I left for work!

And now...Happy Canada Day to my fellow Canucks! I will return to regale you with tales of adventure on Monday. Sending you cool ocean breezes as we launch into the weekend - thank you so much for dropping by!

  1. I recently got a pair of very similar earrings to those on Poshmark, and the seller said they were from Folli Follie (and with the bag). I just know you often like to source/identify your pieces, so maybe that is helpful.

  2. Happy Canada Day, Sheila!
I'm hearing you on the lack of tights, but I'm still loving the combo of pouffy skirt, D&G jacket, scarf and Doc Martens. I can't get over what a delicious colour they are!
Have a most wonderful long weekend, my friend! xxx

  3. Enjoy your long weekend! I really like this outfit even if you felt it would be better with tights. I'm loving the yellow accessories :)

  4. Enjoy the festive weekend. That skirt is a very pretty one, although I would love to see it with a skirt underneath. But that's just me. But the design is very nice, reminds me of a lot of skirts we used to sell in my working days.

  5. Have a great weekend. The skirt is beautiful, but I hear you on tights. Maybe sandals with bare legs in summer? Some pieces are worth figuring out, because you don't see a skirt like that every day.
