Another brief post - I've been at a work function tonight (speeches...so long...), and I have a lingering headache from my dental appointment still.
- Top - Kut from the Kloth, consignment; purchased here for $12.50
- Skirt - Club Monaco, thrifted; first worn here in August 2018 with neoprene
- Booties - London; last seen here in November 2018 with plaid and olive
- Coat (below) - Forever 21, thrifted; last worn here in December 2018
I'm starting to work my way through my not-yet-worn items in my fall/winter wardrobe, and I liked the idea of this tan pencil skirt with the sweatshirt look of the top.
The black darts are inserts of leather - the waistband is also banded in black leather.
I felt very clever. Here's my Clever Face.
Outerwear - the Grape Ape coat for a touch of playfulness.
- Fur scarf - Danier Leather, thrifted
- Gloves - Parkhurst
- Earrings - vintage fair
- Chain bracelet - thrifted
- Faux Gucci bracelet - gift from Mom & Dad, Italy, c. 1986
I love the colourful printed tights you chose to wear with this Sheila! You picked well! :) Such a fun detail.ReplyDelete
Thanks, Mica! They jazzed up a slightly dull outfit, I think.Delete
Love those colourful tights too - gorgeous! Gosh, how do you manage to walk home in freezing temps in a skirt, tights and short boots? I am a total wimp when it comes to cold weather and need to seriously cover up from head to toe. Maybe it is because I am originally from a climate that is mostly always warm in South Africa, and I am still adapting to winters on the Black Sea Coast of Bulgaria :) LiseReplyDelete
Thanks, Lise! Oh, I never walk in my "good" shoes - I change into socks + Doc Martens for walking. It's not that cold here, either - I am just whining. Yikes, that's a big change for you, though!Delete
The tights are a very clever choice and the Grape Ape coat is fab.ReplyDelete
I bought a fluffy jacket on the weekend at a market. I know I've got too many coats but it's purple and was only $5, so I couldn't resist! X
Thank you, Jess! Ooh, no judgment here - I have a big coat collection myself! Looking forward to seeing your coat.Delete
the tights are amazing, and the skirt is fabulous on your behind (hope that's not too personal). I really like the way you mix things up so you look completely different every day. cathyReplyDelete
Thank you so much, Cathy! Ha, no, I don't mind a comment on my rear view - totally fine. I do like to change it up every day, thanks for noticing.Delete
Magnificent tights indeed! (Hope the headache is history now ..)ReplyDelete
It is history, thanks, Rebecca!Delete
Ok, but those tights and booties are giving me life on this cold morning <3ReplyDelete
Yay! That is what I am here for! Thank you!Delete
I like it that you match the lips with the tights, and the accessories with the booties. I do that too, it has to be in balance.ReplyDelete
I love having little matching parts all over (I did it in today's outfit too, as you will see in about 6 hours). Thank you, Nancy, my fellow balance queen!Delete
Those tights are utterly fabulous, Sheila! They certainly are the attention grabbers here. They even outdo the equally fabulous grape ape! Love those booties too! And of course you had to wear matching lipstick! xxxReplyDelete
Thanks, Ann! Oh, yes, matchy all over the place.Delete
Lovely outfit, Sheila and I think the tights are the cherry on top! The boots are lovely. too. A very good look.ReplyDelete
Thanks so much, Vronni!Delete
Love those tights and the booties! The Grape Ape coat is awesome! Hope your dentist headache feels better soon.ReplyDelete
Headache is gone, thanks, Cheryene!Delete
The leather darts on that skirt give it such a great fit and detail.ReplyDelete
You totally surprised me with the tights! I have to admit I like them and can only wonder how I would style them. I am such a wimp with bold items.
I know, that's what makes it hard to have both this one and the Valentino one - they are nearly the same colour! I love a bold item like this -it's a risk I'm willing to take.Delete
You are kicking it up a notch as you always do. Love the leather inserts, and that fabulous embroidered chiffon sweatshirt. Hope the headache goes away.. make sense that dental work can trigger it.ReplyDelete
Those tights ! Gorgeous!
Chiffon sweatshirt - perfect way to describe it, Elle! Thanks, headache is all gone.Delete
The sweatshirt and narrow skirt combo is one that I do often in the winter (with patterned tights). The shapes work great together, and those are some fab tights.ReplyDelete
It's an easy formula. Thanks, my dear!Delete
