Monday Multicolour and a Mystery Pendant

Monday, my old foe! I'm taking Friday off, however, so this is a short week for me. Monday is no match for a swack of colour!
Take that! In your face! Colourama!

  • Shirt - Replay, vintage 90s, thrifted; first worn here in July with emerald pants
  • Skirt - Andre Courreges, vintage 80s, thrifted; last seen here in January with black and white
  • Shoes - Calvin Klein; last worn here in May with a blue dress (love that outfit)
  • Coat (below) - Danier Leather, consignment; last seen here in October

I'm having fun shopping my closet lately (since shopping finds have been far and few between). As I was browsing last night, I thought, time to wear this polyester shirt again when it's not 30+ degrees out.
Although I adore the pattern of this shirt, ugh, the quality is so poor. This will be the last wearing of it. It gapes at the boobs and the belly, it snags if you look at it, and it's sweaty to wear. Gone!

The skirt, on the other hand, is going nowhere. This is Andre-freaking-Courreges, my friends. Vogue has a nice tribute to him if you are unfamiliar with this historic designer, here (linking 'cause I love).
My skirt is not of the iconic "space age" era that Courreges was most famous for, however. Based on the length, cut, the (plastic) hidden zipper, and this handy reference from the Vintage Fashion Guild, I have always felt that this skirt is from the early 80s. The fabric is amazing quality; it's wool and cashmere and is so thick! Great "hand" to it.

Outerwear - more colour! Trying my new orange fur "scarf" as a head-wrap for the first time. It was super-cosy and worked around my up-do.
I used to wear the same ol' coats every day until my dear friend Yvonne asked me to show my outerwear - and now my coat game has been elevated! I always consider what outerwear piece to wear that will best compliment my outfit. Of course, this means I know own a million coats, so thanks a bunch, Yvonne.

  • Fur scarf - thrifted
  • Gloves - Parkhurst

The stuff:
Different red shoes than last week! You can never have too many pairs of red shoes/boots. I liked the pointy-toe vibe with the retro skirt and top.

Colourful bling:
I have never been able to find out anything about this pendant - it's stamped "Miracle" on the back (the tail of the M underlines the rest of the word) and "Britain." The material in the middle is a hard plastic (the swirl is part of the plastic, not printed), and it's not silver (no stamp), but it has heft. I took it off the original chain, which was wide links. Have any of you UKers heard of this brand?

  • Pendant - Miracle, gift from L
  • Earrings - Stella and Dot, consignment, Vancouver
  • Lapis lazuli ring and Fulvia Ring - Wendy Brandes

  4. I adore this vibrant and fun outfit, Sheila. Such a shame about the poor quality of the blouse. That pendant is fabulous! Although I cannot enlighten you about the Miracle stamp, I can tell you I have a brooch with the same marking, bought in a charity shop in Wales last year. When I shared it on the blog, Goody remarked that it looked like Miracle. I hadn't even noticed, but indeed there it was, a Miracle stamp. Love the orange fur scarf worn as a head-wrap, and I am so pleased there is someone else out there who loves her outerwear as much as I do! xxx

    1. I kept hoping the blouse would get better, somehow, Ann. There's a link below in the comments that confirms the brand - my pendant is from the 60s-80s based on that info from that blog.

Outerwear is awesome! I'm actually really glad Yvonne requested pictures - I've really gained a big love for unusual outerwear pieces now.

  5. I love the blue and orange together and that leather jacket is fabulous.
Miracle started in Birmingham (my neck of the woods) 1946 making costume jewellery with a Celtic influence. They're still going today but have since relocated to Cornwall - another nail in the coffin for the west Midlands' manufacturing industry. I usually sell the brooches I find but I'd definitely keep that pedant, it's a beauty! xxx

    1. Thanks, Vix, and I so appreciate the info (I knew you would know!). It just deepens my appreciation for this piece to know it was made in your neck of the woods!

  6. That skirt is gorgeous and perfectly proportioned for you - it makes your legs look a million miles long! Love the outerwear colors! Of course I immediately thought " Wow, I didn't know Shiela is the Broncos owner!!" You'd do well in Denver in that outfit!! 🙂

    1. Thank you so much, Danae! I have to make sure I wear a heel with it, actually, as the length of it is really tricky with low heels. LOL, ooh, the evil Broncos! Never!! ;-P

Shame about the blouse - the pattern is Fantastic!

  8. Oh look at you, Miss Prim! I love the shirt - what a shame it has to go. The skirt screams quality and I love the red shoes and orange leather jacket with the orange head wrap!

How interesting to find out about the pendant; I don't recall coming across any Miracle jewellery but now I'll be looking out for it!

    1. Hee, yes, I am so prim! I know, shame about the shirt, but ugh, you would have agreed if you'd felt it. I know! I love the wonderful resources we have in the blogging community.

  9. I absolutely love the blue skirt! The blouse though if it's gaping and making you sweaty - out it goes. The orange jacket is simply beautiful. I am envious of the red pumps, I can no longer wear high heels due to my poor sore knee, this development is not making me happy at all. I am stopping by My Sister's Closet more regularly looking for leather jackets/coats. I am regretting letting the brown 3/4 length go in the spring when I went shopping with you and Ali. Anyway onwards from there.

    1. Thank you, Dar! I'm limited to lower heels than normal (for me), as my feet aren't happy with high heels any more. Even these red ones are pretty high.

Ah, I told you! You should have listened to me! ;-P Good luck on your search!

  10. You are the only person I know who can make Monday look lovely! It is a rainy, chiily Tuesday here in NY and seeing your colorful outfit makes a positive difference to my day. :) Am keeping this comment short b/c over the past 5 weeks I have written comments 3 times and then lost each one! Apparently my iPad and I are not in harmony. ;)

  12. I have owned a couple of polyester vintage blouses with great patterns but they were hot and uncomfortable to wear, so away they went. That skirt really does fit you beautifully - hugs your curves like it was made for you.

    1. Yeah, it will have to be a pretty special vintage blouse for me to buy another one. Thanks so much, Shelley!

  13. Very elegant today Sheila! I can understand why you fell for the charms of that blouse initially, but hey it sounds like it's not making the grade, bye-bye blousie! And hurrah for that fabulous designer skirt - it's pure class gal. Hurrah also for the orange leather jacket - I love this with the blue. Fab ensemble sweetie x
