Secondhand First Superstar (and Rock 'n' Roll Cowgirl)

Holy cow! In case you don't know The Citizen Rosebud (aka Bella Q), I am honoured to be chosen as her first #seconhandfirst Superstar! So totally exciting! Please feel free to check out my interview with Bella's right-hand, Meghan (Meghan's blog Cirque du Frock here). I had an awesome time answering the questions (Meghan was patient with my rambling...I do ramble).

Well, aren't I just full of myself, hee hee? Okay, back to work - outfit time!
I felt like a rock 'n' roll cowgirl in this today. It was Monday, so a nice distracting print (plus shiny! rhinestones) was needed.

I just purchased this awesome shirt yesterday (here). Isn't it a great fit?
I liked it with this coral colour, although I have to admit, I am not feeling this skirt. I went through my soft-construction phase (lots of Smoking Lily) and now I'm more into fully-lined, detailed construction. This skirt: not those things. I do love the colour, though. I last wore it here in September 2013 (I got rid of that cardi).
I love the back of this shirt - this is one of those pieces that's better in person. In the pictures, it's just a big mish-mash.

The stuff:
My beloved Libby Smith Bellevilles were last seen here in March for our trip to Vancouver.

Metal and stone bling:
I have totally gapped on this belt. I think I got it at a vintage fair for $5? (Yup, that's what I said when I wore it for L's birthday last year, so I'm going with that!) It's really light, like aluminum, and I love the craftsmanship of it - check out the hammered links.

Shirt (Dept, consignment), skirt (Floating Gold Iceberg, consignment), boots (Libby Smith Belleville, Fluevog), belt (vintage), earrings (local), spinner ring (consignment), red/silver ring (Oscar & Libby's).

  1. I read your interview with Meghan, it's great!
And I obviously wasn't paying proper attention, because when you showed us that shirt before, I thought it was for L! Must Concentrate More...
Anyway, it looks fabulous on you - getting shirts to fit well over boobs is no easy matter! And yes, the belt is a beauty. xxx

  7. You don't ramble! You were the perfect interview subject and you're so patient with ME procrastinating. :-P I'm glad you like the piece and you look gorgeous as always.

  8. LOVE the shirt. And the skirt. I'm going the opposite way - more jersey, more stretch. Which is even harder trying to find things in cotton knits (or at least rayon/viscose, not polyester). I spend a minimum of 9 hours at work, moving constantly. Anything stiff is a no-go.
