Concrete and Floaty Florals

Hola, it's Tuesday! We are experiencing wonderful summer weather here on the west coast - and I am enjoying being able to bare my legs and wear floaty summery things before spring's wet personality swamps us again (it will happen, just please not till after the long weekend!).
I adore this dress, and loved this outfit. Most people noticed the bigass flower more than the dress, but I'm cool with that. People are drawn to bigass.

This dress is my recent thrift find (here, this past weekend), purchased for $18.50.
As you can see, it's much different on, now that the self-tie belt has been wrapped around my waist (it's tied off at the side, under the flower). It was still slip-slidin' away around my shoulders today, but I have a full slip on underneath to counter any see-through business.
When I was in high school, I remember having a very pale grey dress in this colour - it's one of the only shades of grey I can wear that doesn't make me look sallow. I liked my old plain grey dress (I wish I had a picture), but I like this one more. I do love a good floral.

The stuff:
My Jump! For the People shoes are scuffing up - the grey colour is coming off and it's white underneath. So annoying. I last wore them here in April with a red dress and stripes.

Bigass flower power bling!
I seriously love that flower. I've had it for about a year, maybe more.

Dress (Amanda Laird Cherry, thrifted), shoes (Jump! For the People, consignment), flower (Le Chateau), cuff (thrifted), earrings (gift from Lise), ring (About Tine).

  2. The dress is amazing and so beautiful on you, Sheila! Shame on those shoes for misbehaving - they are really pretty though. I love your taste in shoes a lot!

  3. Oh yes, you are right - that dress is so much better on than on the hanger! I love a floral too, and that is very pretty. xxxx

  4. That dress is sooooo pretty! And you look great in it - different from your usual silhouette, but gorgeous.

You have another three-day weekend? You seem to have a lot of them in Canada, you slackers. ;-)
