Mar 26th - Outfit #24 - Blue and Burgundy

Mondays are just extra nasty after having a long weekend - thank goodness there is another long weekend coming soon with Easter!
I'm starting to recognize that around the 3rd or 4th week of the month, I want a New Capsule. I'm becoming tired of this one and want to wear new stuff! Not even necessarily newly purchased, just different than these same things.

However, that said, this is only the second wear of the Keith skirt (last seen here) and the Bonspiel "Leia" jacket (last seen here), so I really can't complain that much. I'm also wearing my teal crow t-shirt (last worn here) underneath this, but you can't really see it.

I've decided that I am going to keep this jacket. It's just such a cool shape. I might actually get my madd craft skillz on and sew another snap fastener to the "boob gap" area so that it lays better.

But, I've decided that I am not going to keep this skirt; it's mostly linen, it's a little big and a little long on me, and well...I don't love it like I should really love it.  I'm sorry, skirt, it's not you, it's me! It's going to go to a good home (Megan's) where it will get the love it deserves.
Don't even suggest hemming it - that's just not going to happen!
Of course, these are my awesome red Miz Mooz boots (last worn here). I had a few people at work (who read Ephemera) ask if these were the new ones, but alas no. Those will have to wait for another capsule.

The stuff:
Shiny! Caw!

Speaking of "caw"...
There's my crow pin that I just got! I used it to pin the flappy bit down on the collar of the jacket. Taking some inspiration from Megan again and her pins.

Don't forget to check out Visible Monday at Patti's "Not Dead Yet Style"!

Jacket (Bonspiel, consignment), tee (Hama Hama, Smoking Lily), skirt (Keith, Smoking Lily), belt (Plum), boots (Miz Mooz), cuff (St. Paul's Cathedral Gift Shop), earrings (local), ring (Wendy Brandes), crow pin (Ravens Rest Studio).

  1. Mmmmm- pins! I love how you style with them. You look great, as always, and esp fab in your Miz Mooz boots. Thanks so much for linking up to Visible Monday, Sheila, I appreciate you : >

  2. I love the jacket, and really do think it fits the Sheila-aesthetic. My vote is going to an extra snap or something.

I think the skirt is a take-it-or-leave-it. I can see it doing well in Megan's closet. The color is pretty, and it does match your Miz Mooz boots well, however the fit is so-so.

Also speaking of your boots, you made me realize I ran out of winter before getting to wear mine very much. I think we're fairly well into spring with every day hitting at least 80F. Need to tuck my boots away and get reacquainted with sockless footwear.

  3. Upwards and onwards, away with the skirt! The jacket looks so different with this skirt than the blue-grey. Beautiful. It's too bad I missed you on the weekend - next time!

  4. Looking forward to styling that skirt! Mwahahahaha. =)

I'm glad you're keeping that jacket. It's too awesome to give up.

I like the blonde streak in your hair. It's like a promise that spring is coming.

  7. The jacket is definitely a keeper. And I won't suggest a hem--I have two hemmings on my pile at the moment.
