Mar 28th - Outfit #26 - Tonal Olives

I had a late night last night and woke up with very puffy eyes - maybe it's allergies (all the cherry trees are in bloom), but I look like I'm on the verge of tears in all these pictures. I'm okay, really.
I feel like the colours didn't come out quite right in any of these pictures, probably because this skirt always looks grey, when it's actually a very military khaki. I love it, though - it has such a nice shape, with the kicky pleats in the front and back. I last wore it here.

The cardigan wasn't really needed with this outfit, but I liked the extra layer.
It is quite a gold-toned olive, which is why I was originally drawn to it. Although I like it, I am probably not going to keep it in my wardrobe after this capsule. I last wore it here.

I usually play up the red bits in this blouse (last seen here), but today I played with the blue in the flowers.
I'm wearing a blue camisole worn over my skirt's waistband (the skirt has a really low waist), and of course, Wendy B's ring. The cami is not part of the capsule, per my rules.

The shoes are the best part, because they're Fluevogs! I found out today that one of my coworkers ACTUALLY KNOWS JOHN FLUEVOG. Holy Dinah. How freaking cool would it be to meet John Fluevog?? I'd be all star-struck.

*ahem*

I last wore the shoes here.

The stuff:
I must remember to photograph the accessories more - I find I'm less inspired to do a "stuff" picture when I've worn the capsule items a time or three.

That necklace has turned out to be a workhorse in my accessory wardrobe. I wear it a lot!

Cardigan (Kersh, consignment), "Queen of Faeries" blouse (no label, consignment), skirt (Club Monaco, consignment), cami/belt/necklace (Plum), shoes (Sumatra Coffees, Fluevog), ring (Wendy Brandes), earrings (Lavishy).

  1. Great look. Your necklace is beautiful, no wonder you wear it often. I hope your coworker gets the HINT! Let us know and we'd all wear our favourite Fluevogs for a shoe tribute.

  2. Wow, now I know someone who knows someone who knows John Fluevog! That's four degrees of separation right? Or is it only three? :) Take pictures if you ever get invited for drinks.

  5. FLUEVOG for Prime Minister! *ahem* I love this photo of Michaelle Jean about to give the Throne Speech in those shoes.

I like the subtle pop of blue of the camisole peeking out at the bottom of the blouse and I love the necklace.

  7. Nice necklace. I just realized your poses are so similar in every post that if you ever changed them, I'd wonder if I went to the wrong place. Even your posts are classic you.

    1. Some would call the poses stale - I say "whatever works." I know how to do them really quickly, they're flattering and easy.

      Thanks, sweet Ally!

  8. The important question: do you wear Fluevogs if you ever get a chance to meet Fluevog? And if so, what pair? Secondly, do you think he wears Fluevogs? And would you be horrified if you met him and he was wearing a pair of Nike runners? At the beginning of my thesis project, I had an opportunity to "run into" Margaret Atwood, and I chose not to - I knew she would never live up to the idea I have of her in my head, and while some day I would love to see how she would stack up, I couldn't handle any potential disappointment that early in my thesis project.

    1. Cara, great questions! I would definitely wear Fluevogs - and an outfit that really shows them off. As for which ones...man, hard choice! I think it would be one of the pairs that I've had the longest, like my black and white heeled Oxfords.

I would tease him if he wore Nikes!

I can see why you would want to avoid bursting any bubble re: Margaret Atwood - she's an icon!

  9. I feel you on the allergies! Some mornings I wake up with puffy eyes too and I have to tell everyone all day long, I'm really not upset I promise!

I am so envious of all of your Fluevogs and wow if you could meet John Fluevog that would be incredible!

  13. Those Fluvogs are drool worthy. Sigh, I wish I had a pair. (Whatever you do, don't get rid of that skirt. It's adorable and looks great on you!)

  14. Awesome outfit. I definitely get "sleepy/tired/puffy" eyes from allergies. It's really that time of year.

Holycrap! I think it would be so cool to get to meet/know one of my fav designers.
