I am just craving colour right now! All the daffodils and cherry blossoms are out (I'll take some pictures soon, promise) and my olive green, slate blue and burgundy colour scheme for March suddenly seems very dull indeed.
Fortunately, I threw in a couple of brighter versions of that palette and I am so glad I did!
When I saw this rather plain dress in the thrift store a few months ago, I liked it and saw that it had good layering potential, and I liked the colour, but I didn't dream how much I would enjoy this lovely shade of blue.Anyway, this is that blue dress again (last seen here) and my fuzzy bright olive (can olive be bright?) cardigan (last seen here).
I did my brown Mary Janes again (last seen here), then did a brown belt to pull the browns together.
Wait, I forgot my "new" pose!
Point your toes!
My gold tights work their magic again.
The stuff:
I got that bracelet in Vancouver on last year's anniversary trip.
Dress (Ann Taylor Loft, thrifted), cardigan (Kersh), shoes (Nine West, thrifted), bracelet (consignment), belt/ring (Club Monaco), earrings (Oscar & Libby's).
Very springy! Simple things are always the most versatile.
ReplyDeleteThe bracelet is so beautiful!
You know I love that dress, which is almost the same color as my new Vogs. What size are you again? lol Seriously, I love dresses that are versatile, and in perfect colors for the wearer's skin tones, like this is on you.
ReplyDeleteIn a dress, I'm anywhere from a 6 to a 10; in shoes, I'm a 9.5/40. If I get tired of the dress, I'll send it your way!
DeleteI could see that this dress would work in many seasons! In the winter it would look great with a light grey and silver.
ReplyDeleteI like the new pose - I'll have to try it soon! (Imitation is the best form of flattery, right?)
ReplyDeletePlease do! I copied it from Audi of Fashion for Nerds!
DeleteI do love this brighter look. That green cardi always looks like it's super soft. I hope it is! I love that belt too. I think it's definitely spring time.
ReplyDeleteIt is soft! It's just a synthetic, not wool.
DeleteI really love the olive/blue combo! Good eye. The patterned tights balance out the texture in the sweater. You look great!
ReplyDeleteLove that blue dress with the cardi - really is a great layering piece! :)
ReplyDeleteI love this color combination, Sheila - I gotta try it too. You look fab, and esp with your new posing! : >
ReplyDeleteThat color combo is awesome on you!! The dress looks so springtimey--it's like the color of robin's eggs!
ReplyDeleteI love this color pairing! And I really love your bracelet and earrings, fun accessories!
ReplyDeleteI never would have thought to put those two colors together, but they look awesome!
ReplyDeleteI love the dress and the bracelet is very pretty! New follower:)

That color blue is perfect for you. Looking good!
ReplyDeleteThat blue dress rules !
ReplyDeleteI love more and more when I realize that unexpected colors work together in such an eye opening way: this color combo is a winner.
I would have NEVER thought of it.
