Sorry for the lack of posting - I've mentioned a few times that my office has been doing renos for months. Well, this weekend, we moved our other local office into the office I work at. I worked until 8:30 pm on Friday night, then I worked all day today (Sunday). I've only been home long enough to watch the season finale of "The Walking Dead" (yes! Michonne! finally!), and I'm dyeing my hair and then going to bed.
Gah, I'm so tired.
Anyway, yes, I did have an outfit on Friday, although I ended up changing into jeans for the 4+ extra hours that I worked (the jeans are not in this month's capsule, but I'm cutting myself some slack).
And here it is! This is my olive blazer again (last seen here), my crow t-shirt (last seen here) and my jean skirt again (last time here).I felt like being a badass, so I wore my grommet belt and my two cuffs.
Ha, not so tough.
Those are my olive boots again (last worn here).
Jacket (RW & Co., consignment), top (Hama Hama by Smoking Lily), skirt (OptionElle, consignment), boots (Hispanitas, consignment), belt (swap from Ruth), studded cuff (vintage 80s), cuff (Guess, thrifted).
I refused to work on Saturday, even though I probably could have saved myself the Sunday work, but we had friends from Vancouver in town, and I wanted to have one fun weekend day!
I went to my WW meeting, then we met our friends for brunch.
I got a ton of compliments on this outfit. It's just the dress (last seen here) and the boots (last seen here), but the addition of the scarf and the yellow leather jacket just brings it up a notch.
The scarf drove me a bit batty all day. I can never tie them right.
This is such a comfortable dress. I ended up having a little bit of retail therapy at Dots after lunch. I bought two more tops that will be working themselves into April's or maybe even May's capsules. I have a couple of more ideas for theme months, mostly revolving around different colour mixes.I'm excited to break out the spring/summer bins of clothes under the bed and pack away (most of) my autumn/winter stuff.
I'm also wearing my Lavishy bird ring and earrings, and my Wendy B ring. Sadly, the Lavishy ring broke while I was out.
I really loved the bright yellow with the blue. I felt very spring-y!
Jacket (Danier Leather), dress (Ann Taylor Loft, thrifted), boots (Miz Mooz), scarf (Metropolitan Museum of Art design, thrifted), earrings/ring (Lavishy), ring (Wendy Brandes).
Hope you had an awesome weekend!
Lovely outfit. I think I'll propose marriage to those boots -- I'd commit to a LTR with them.
ReplyDeleteAnalogous to how, when you aren't trying, you dress better than the rest of us, your apology for posting less frequently is unwarranted: when you are overworked and unable to post at your normal rate, you're STILL posting more than the rest of us! Wonder Woman, indeed...
Aw, shucks, thanks, Ally!
DeleteYikes! What an exhausting weekend! I hope the worst of it is over now... I love your Saturday outfit. You're sunshine in a dress!! xx
ReplyDeleteI also love your colour combination of the yellow and blue! Sporty, spring-y...
ReplyDeleteLove your bright outfit with the red yellow and blue! :)
ReplyDeleteSorry you've been working so much, hope it all calms down once everyone is moved in!
Love both outfits!!! I really love the crow shirt.
ReplyDeleteAnd you look like Ms. Springtime in the aqua and yellow!! So cheerful!
Your Spring outfit is so yummy! You are right about the scarf, it's the perfect touch.
ReplyDeleteI love both outfits especially the blue/yellow/red combination. Those Miz Mooz boots are so fabulous.
ReplyDeleteMy gosh, you just can't catch a break, lady. You did look ravishing for brunch, though.
ReplyDeleteI cannot tell you how much I like that last outfit. The dress, the color, the fit - you are radiant Sheila !
ReplyDeleteBrb, I am sneaking into your closet right now because Oh. My. God. I want your Red/Blue/Yellow outfit! I think this one wins top marks. Sorry to hear about your broken ring though. That sucks.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful color combination!
ReplyDeleteIs the blue/teal dress cotton? If so... so jealous!
ReplyDeleteCara, no, it's a knit blend, but it's that fabric that goes in the washer and dryer, so easy care. I haven't had any "breathing" issues with it.
DeleteOh, I love the cut and the color of the dress! But the red boots and the yellow jacket give the look a great twist.
ReplyDeleteI love this outfit! One ofnmy all time favorites! I especially love the yellow jacket with the dress. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteScarves give me a tough time too!
