I get this reaction a lot - I am really more of a skirt gal than a trouser chick. However, because I've been thinking of doing this for over a year, and I have a short week this week, I am doing Pants Week, or "Heh, She Said Pants Week" because, frankly, the word "pants" is funny.
Today's pants (heh): These are my lovely navy blue windowpane check trousers (last seen here), worn with my new thin summer jacket. It was about $18 on consignment. Normally, I wouldn't be caught dead wearing a cheater (you know, like a vest/shirt mixed item), but this doesn't try to look like there's a vest under a jacket; it's just a nice extra detail at the middle.
Anyway, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it!
The outside shot:
I enjoy these pants, although they are rather long, so I always wear heels with them. Flats tomorrow, feet, I promise!
The stuff:
The stuff:
My groovy burgundy shoes (last seen here).
The silver things:
The silver things:
Jacket (Leshop, consignment), sweater (Planet), pants (Esprit), shoes (Towne Shoes, thrifted), cuff (St. Paul's Cathedral gift shop), pin (60s vintage, Pastelli, Grandma J), earrings (don't remember).
Yay! That's the best week ever! I love the word "pants" - funny, non?
ReplyDeleteI'm a skirt girl too, but unlike you I can't make pants look stylish or hot! So I'll learn a lot this week! I love the first day! Kisses :)
LOVE your wide legged pants Sheila!
ReplyDeleteSarah xxx
I't is very obvious when you wear pants - because you always wear skirts... but you look good in pants too.
ReplyDeleteThose wide legged trousers are marvelous.
You know I am wearing pant this week too but mostly because I really, REALLY dont want to shave.
The pants look great, and the print is fun!
ReplyDeleteThose are great pants!
ReplyDeleteYou look fabulous in these pants...I love them with the heels..very flattering outfit!
ReplyDeleteI've watched and read enough British stuff lately that I associate "pants" with "underpants" now. That said, you always look fantastic. Both in trousers and skirts.
ReplyDeleteI love the cut of the blazer. I tend to like the fusion vest/jackets because they leave the jacket "open" enough to show the shirt but still stay in place and closed. I've wanted one of the pirate-y ones from Fanplusfriend for awhile.
Good pants (hehe). I'm excited for this week, and not just because you'll be typing "Pants" a lot.
ReplyDeleteI would NEVER have guessed that's a cheater under the jacket. Also, those window-pane pants are such a great fit and finish on you. And burgundy and dark blue is a stunning combo, especially with your bright locks to top them off!
Two things I had to comment on: I also get comments when I wear pants to work, and I am also vehemently opposed to "cheaters" (though I've never heard them called that!). They just annoy me--I know how to put a cami under my jacket, and don't need the manufacturer to do it for me. Grr. I wouldn't have thought of your jacket in that category at all...it looks great. :-)
ReplyDeleteI love window pane pants - my mom's favourite pants are a pair of brown window panes, so I always think of her when I see them!!
ReplyDeleteThat's funny :)
ReplyDeleteThose pants look great on you though, so hooray for pants week!
I really like your slacks (pants) > both words are kinda funny. Trouser, slacks, pants, dungarees - whatever you want to call them, You look great!!
ReplyDeleteThat's not a cheater at all; it's just a really cool detail on the jacket. :)
ReplyDeleteDimi, thank you! It's a funny word! Aw, I bet you can make pants work for you - thank you, darlin'.
ReplyDeleteSarah, thank you! I love wide legs.
Lorena, yup, totally - and many people at work have commented, "Why are you only wearing pants?" It's pretty funny. Thank you - and ha! That is the perfect reason for wearing pants!
Rebecca, thank you!
Cynthia, thanks!
Pam, thanks so much!
Megan, ha, yes, I forgot about that! "Trousers" sounds naughty to me, though. This is the first "fusion" (good term) piece I've ever bought and I was a little iffy until I tried it on and it fit so nicely.
A-Dubs, thank you! I'm glad this isn't overtly cheater-y.
Christa, thank you! I totally agree on cheaters!
Cara, aw, how cool.
Londyn, thank you! You always look so good in pants.
Yvonne, thank you! I agree - they are funny words. "Slacks" is another good one!
Kristen, thanks!
