When in Leopard

Today, I worked downtown at another WW meeting - I was feeling a bit down on my other meetings and things in general this week (hormonal), and the ladies who work there gave me hugs, so I felt better. I also find that interacting with people and chatting with them perks me up, although, oddly, by nature I'm much more solitary. It's like I have to recharge my "social batteries."

Leopard also puts a little spring in my step:
This is all remixed, nothing new. I last wore the skirt here, and I marvelled again this time at how nice and plushy.

Tossed on my bright green cardi (last seen here, scroll down) and a belt and voila, easy outfit.

Of couse, when in leopard one must emulate Wendy:
Ooh, Wendy's pose makes my ankles look nice.

The stuff:
Shoes I've had for so long that I can't remember what brand they are (the label is completely worn off).

I find I'm wearing a lot less accessories since I've been out of work. I wear less bracelets for the WW meetings (they're distracting). My shoes are a lot more practical as well. Ah, well, all the more reason to go over the top a bit when I go out!

Speaking of...I'm going out for dinner and to a burlesque with my sweetie this weekend. Are you doing anything special for V-Day?

Cardigan (Kersh), cami (Esprit), belt (Plum), skirt (S & D, thrifted), shoes (unknown), earrings (gift from L).

  1. I'm sorry to hear you've been a bit down, but glad to read things seem to be perking up! Your V-Day weekend sounds awesome!

I love the leopard and green combo. You are giving me some ideas.

  2. The Wendy pose is always a good choice, and that green sweater looks great with your hair.

  3. That belt is great! I love the way you put it over the cardi, it's a great color and that skirt is fab :)

  4. Hi Sheila,

I just got a great leopard print top, maybe a green skirt? Thanks for the idea!

  5. Another great outfit, GF! Love those cute shoes...great heel. I have heard that if you recharge your batteries by being with people--you are an extrovert and if you recharge by being alone: an introvert. I am the latter. Recharge.

  6. I wore green with leopard a while back. It's fun! You certainly look more polished. I have learned a lot since then, so next time will be better. :) Leopard Print @ Accessible Attire

  7. You look smokin', Sheila! I'll send you some e-hugs in hopes that you're feeling better. I love seeing outfits that are traditionally paired with red, paired with green instead.

  8. I'm glad to hear that recharging the social batteries helped. You are looking super adorbs in the green and leopard.

  9. I love the combination of the green with the leopard. I totally understand the distraction of bracelets and although I own a few, I very rarely wear them in the classroom.

  10. Green + Leopard = Genius! Love it! I will have to find a way to try this combo in my own wardrobe. Beautiful!

  11. I'm glad you have ways to recharge because February is a terrible no-good very bad month. Also, once again, I'm at leopard-is-a-neutral school and you're teaching the advanced class. It's nice for a basic leopard-learner like me to drop into the wrong classroom every once in a while!

  12. You looked absolutely fabulous at work, as always! Have fun for valentines! MY valentines is on a sail so I won't be able to celebrate it with him for another month. So I am thinking a run and some cheesey valentines movies!

  13. I too enjoy being solitary (in fact I sorely miss it) yet am recharged by company. Apparently that's the difference between extroverts and introverts: extroverts get charged around other people, introverts get drained.

The green and leopard combination is gorgeous, and not one I would have thought of. Nice!

  14. Thanks, LaHdM, I appreciate that. It should be a fun weekend! Thanks so much!

    Agreed, Rebecca, thank you!

Thanks, Iris! It's one of my easy looks that I don't have to think too hard about.

Lesa, yes, absolutely! Give it a try!

Paula, thank you! That's funny, I always thought I was an introvert. I think I'm a bit of both.

    Thanks for the link, Charlotte!

Megan, thank you, much better. I think leopard looks awesome with almost all colours.

Rad, thanks. Aw, super adorbs? Awesome! Ha!

Terry, thank you. I love bracelets, but not when I'm dealing with people one on one.

Thanks, Kasmira! Can't wait to see how you style it.

A-Dubs, yes, it's very sucky. Leopard goes with anything - try it! Aw, I don't think you are a learner at all. :)

Thanks, Jen! That sounds like an awesome V-Day plan!

Kelly, I'm a learned extrovert - I do prefer to be alone. Funny how that is! Thank you so much!

  15. I hear you on the "down" feeling, it IS February, and well- UGH.
But, the days are getting longer, giving us more sunshine, and our impending Spring is the proverbial "light at the end of the tunnel"!

Your outfit certainly gave no clue to your glumness- perhaps it was your inner glow trying to break free!
I love that skirt. I want that skirt! It looks like it has just the slightest a-line (?), which is insanely flattering... and mixing it with the bright green was totally inspired! Like a jungle dwelling cat- say...did Inigo give you the eye? Anyway, I'm glad you ended up being recharged- social interaction really is an important component of human behaviour.
(Now if only all of the humans in the world could interact by being nice to one another for an extended period of time...YEAH!)

  16. Rita, it's a mix here - we often get good weather in Feb, but it's more a state of mind, you know?

Aw, thank you - "fake it till you feel it" is my motto! Yes, the skirt does have an A-line. Hee, Inigo does like to sit on it.

Yes, you're right - it's finding that balance of interaction and solitude.

  17. I would never have thought to pair kelly green with leopard. It is stunning. Thanks for the inspiration!
